Wow a real review from someone who actually owns and uses their knife 👏

This might be the best review on GB2! Glad to see someone actually carrying and using a knife for a while, too many shallow unboxing 'review' vids on YT. My only complaints with GB2 are 1) it's hard to operate the lock with gloves on (without gloves its perfect and pretty ambidextrous!), 2) the steel liners feel somewhat cold in freezing temps, 3) weight, while not bad, isn't great (only problem if hiking ultralight). GB2 is definitively in my top 3 among military and chaparral FRN, maybe top 1. I go tip-down carry on this knife after poking a massive cut in my thumb, prefer tip-down on long knives anyways and makes GB2 carry a bit more deep.

I really appreciate that, I like to take my time and get a bunch of use and a few sharpenings before I do this edc update style of video. I see your complaint with gloves, I never really thought about that. The weight on this knife was a little confusing to me on how heavy it is, especially because Spyderco usually does a good job (with knives like the mille) of making a knife light. I never really thought about tip down with this knife, but I could see it working. Thanks for watching👍

Thanks, this was a solid video with some good observations covered. Much better than the typical “I like deep carry and it has smooth action” crap. You convinced me to order one. The design seems solid all around.

It really is one of their best knives and a great value even at last year's MAP price. I tried a few different clips on mine, Ended up with a black coated long lynch deep carry. Thanks for video

It kind of amazed me at how cheap this thing was. I don’t remember if I said this in the video or not, but if this knife was $250, I would be perfectly fine with paying that. Thanks for watching

Such a great review!!! I watched this a year ago and now i have 2 gb2s! 1 of them i modded with micarta scales, and sent it to WOK and edc gear house for an acid stonewash blade, sharpening choil, lock bar access, and bead blasted liners and standoffs. Its my grail.

I know im late to this party, but im on the fence about getting one of these. I found one for a reasonable, secondary market price. this is a very good review, of practical use and carry. I wasn't interested in this knife when they were available, but now im going over all the reviews I can find to see if should get one.

One of my all time favorites, nice thin laserbeam of an edge, excellent hollow grind, nice neutral handle and CPM-M4.. I mean who doesn't love high toughness, high stability and high wear resistant steel. Excellent knife and excellent review

great size, amazing blade shape, sadly the liner lock is a disqualifier. would've been perfection if it had compression lock or lock back.

"lock bar vocabulary" lol, Man I really like your outlook on knives in general. This is my first video of yours that I've watched, I mean I just got a Bradly 2 and it's on its way, and you know how we knife guys do, buy a knife and watch every damn youtube vid about it we can find, same thing with guns. I definitely dig your philosophies, your general opinions on knives, and preferences. So yeah man, its good to hear the things you're saying. Thank you. 👊

Is that the record for "thin behind the edge"?? :) 7.5/1000?? and it's still available. Costing only a lttle more than a "standard" Benchmade 940 (...$30 CAD more...and about $30 more than a PM2)....the GB2 is now oon my short-list :)

Great discussion of my favorite Spyderco knife. I agree that this is a knife that demonstrates their diverse knife making abilities.

The GB2 is a knife that if there wasn’t the thumb hole and if there wasn’t the Spyderco logo, I would never guess that the knife is made by Spyderco. It’s out of their comfort zone but it is amazing. Thanks for watching

While I am in the deep carry crowd, but that matters to me with knives I would carry in a city. On a worker like a GB I actually don’t want it as I want to be able to easily access the knife in my pocket even if I have wear work gloves.

I understand that. I live in Kentucky and most of the people I’m around already know I like knives so I really have nothing to “conceal”. I also like the ease of pulling it out of my pocket like you said. Thanks for watching

I love my GB2 but the detent is weak enough to keep it out of my pocket. It's so weird that Taichung can make knives so perfect and so flawed at the same time, at this point I just consider it their calling card :)

I hope so, I think if they got more in stock that would mean Spyderco did another batch of them. Hopefully they’re readily available soon. Thanks for watching

liner lock disengagement here is cognitive dissonance for a faulty design realized!
