I’ve to say that I certainly love and prefer the looks and ergos of PM2 over any other Spyderco Model. This is just my personal opinion. ✌🏻😀🙌🏻⭐️💎♥️🦂♥️

PM2 is probably my favorite Spyderco knife of all time. I love the ergos and love Spyderco compression locks. Also just received a Spyderco Domino in trade and I Gotta say I really like it a lot more than I thought I would.

Think it’s the blade and how the blade is sculptured. Eric G has a good explanation abt the shaman blade sculpturing especially the tip section

I love my Shaman, it gets carried as much as my PM2 for sure 👍🏻

One thing I heard about the Shaman (maybe you said this and I missed it) is that when you close it, the choil is way more likely to bounce the blade off the fingertip that's holding the compression lock open compared to the PM2. This would be pretty annoying to me, but given all the other stuff the Shaman does well, it's probably a non-factor for a lot of people. All that aside I will swear by the PM2 until the end of time. It can handle tough use as well. Looks way better IMO. And the thumb ramp gives me a lot of confidence in-hand.

I just got a Shaman after having used a PM2 and Para 3 for an extended period and while they both are easier to manipulate open and closed, the weight of the blade behind the Shaman definitely gives it a satisfying feel when deploying with the compression lock, and the piece that comes into the compression is negligible after some getting use to, even as a lefty. I can see how it may turn people off though and some people even grind it off.

Thank you for this comparison you were very precise and helpful to someone like me that is torn between the two. In all honestly I will probably buy both but I appreciate the breakdown. Agree though that these designs are not the best looking by far but practicality is more important sometimes.

I've used my PM2 for years and put it through alot of hard work in the yard. That thing even cuts branches for me. The knife is still as rock solid as it was on day one out the box. So it's interesting to hear the comparison with the Shaman, which I don't have experience with. But I'd say the PM2 is a hard use folder that I have all the confidence taking into any task for my daily life, and yet it's as sharp as a scalpel. That said, there would be obvious advantages in the Shamans thicker blade stock. Funny you should mention it, but I'm one of the lesser population that prefers the lanyard hole. I actually don't like using pocket clips, at all. They rip up the fabric or get bent and I just find them to be more of a nuisance. I know I'm in the minority there. I just picked up a new black/black in the s45vn just for a fresh new look and to see how that new blade steel performs. And yep, I removed the pocket clip in the first 5 minutes and attached a terrific lanyard with a titanium bead to dangle out the pocket of my 5.11's. 👍

One thing that I have realized was ver the years of carrying many different knives is that even if a design is better catered towards something sometimes it’s always best to have the knife you ate most comfortable and familiar with. But now reading this back to myself I might be trying to justify having this many knives and always going back to the same two lmfao

" Both of them are available in plenty of steels" Mmhhmmm yeah except for the Shaman's sprint runs are few and immediately gone except for 200 % price gouging on eBay. The only available models are in S30V still costing more than PM2 Sprints 😵

I have the PM2 and the only benchmade I think is as good if not better is the super freek. I love that knife also. I have the Bugout and Osbourne but my super freek is the only one I think comes close if not better.

The Shaman is better in every single objective and subjective metric except for "sliciness" where the PM2 shines. This video could have been 5min long.

I was in a knife fight and a lanyard (i use paracord or high strength leather) saved me from dropping. I put it around my wrist and choke it for tension. If my hand opens completely instead of falling to the ground the knife dangles from my wrist. Today I only own knives that have this feature.
