This series are the best on the Internet.. I couldn't believe someone could explain this concepts to such a basic level. With someone like David and more series like this, I'm very sure me or anyone can make it in CS or software engineering field.

I'm so glad you finally expanded on the SQL injection vulnerability in the end! I was about to write an angry comment xD There are so many tutorials that don't do it and it's really dangerous. Excellent tutorial, really! Very enjoyable, even though I knew all of that already. Well explained, good speed, good stuff! Awesome!

I'd planned to learn SQL and as a finance graduate, I thought it would be a tedious task to learn SQL. Somehow I landed here for primming before plunging into the world of SQL. I am glad my time's worth has been fulfilled. I wish to learn PYTHON from him. Such an excellent teacher.

You don't need a CS degree. So much material is available online now a days. I have good videos on DBMS concepts and SQL.
When starting to develop any new full stack application, is it best to start with the Model (data) logic first, then move onto the controller and view; then afterwards go back and forth to piece everything together? Just wondering how the mindset is at the start?
@dasten123
5 жыл бұрын
I don't think there is a common approach. But I think most people will do it just like you described, since at first glance it doesn't make sense to implement the view before you have something to display, right? The problem is though, that modelling the data (correctly) can be the hard part if you are making a complex application. And when the data is not modelled correctly structurally, you'll notice that when building the view around it that something is not right - so you go back to the model, change stuff, maybe scrap some ideas entirely, and then go back to the view and change that also... Then the circle continues and you'll go back and forth. On the other hand - if you start with the view (you could use static hard-coded data), you are working more directly on the end result and when that looks fine, you can model the backend according to what it _actually_ needs to do, and nothing more.

Why does a Harvard professor say Mac or PC? Essentially he is saying "OS X" or "Windows". But we all know almost all developers code in Linux. I see he's wearing an Apple watch and therefore seems to be overly influenced by the marketing of a corporate entity. Kind-of like a politician being influences by lobbyists. Just say PC. A PC can be Mac, Linux, or Windows. You would hope someone 'intelligent' enough to work at Harvard would have sufficient intelligence to understand that a PC = personal computer. And as a term it is agnostic. Why bring corporate branding from 2012 into your class? Especially when the branding you are promoting is not the O/S of choice for those who chose to become developers.
