Excellent Video, but one correction regarding public key and private key at 47:20. The public key is always used to encrypt data (everybody can encrypt) while the private key is used to decrypt data not the other way around.

Do you need to do each step for every database you want encrypt within an instance? If so, I would then assume you would have multiple master keys and certificates?

i got this error when i want to set encryption SQL Error [15151] [S0001]: Cannot find the certificate 'MyServerCert', because it does not exist or you do not have permission. what should i do? i'm new to sql server and data encrypting

The salt itself could be an alternate key of a database table.
