🌊 Squamish Season 2023 Highlights: Thrills, Spills, and Epic Sessions! 🌊
This season has been a rollercoaster ride of progress and adrenaline-pumping crashes. Thankfully, we managed to keep the injuries at bay and keep the kites flying high. The video kicks off with jaw-dropping crashes that are as exhilarating as they are heart-stopping: Scott's daring boardoff mishap, Jan's late backroll overrotation, and Dani's accidental backroll kiteloop followed by a late backroll boardoff. Even our buddy Will joined the party with a spectacular boogieloop crash!
But, as they say, all's well that ends well. As Squamish Watersports typically extends our season past September 15th, we decided to play it safe due to the rainy weather and headed to Bozo Beach. This gem shines on medium to low tide, and to our surprise, the wind was a dream, reaching all the way to the beach. Whether it was luck or just perfect timing, Bozo Beach delivered.
🚂 Safety Note: Beware of the railway crossing and strictly adhere to shipyard restrictions. Safety first, always! 🚫
Back to the action! We embarked on a chill session, cruising upwind to Spit Island. The wind started gentle, then flirted with gusts and holes. Among the riders that day, Loren's skills stood out. He defied the challenging conditions, pulling off loops and soaring high. As the wind played tricks on us, Loren continued to push boundaries. In a breathtaking moment, propelled by an insane gust, he attempted a massive late backroll-a trick not meant for these conditions. He battled through the rotation, narrowly escaping a potential mishap.
Thankfully, no harm done, but it was the grand finale to an epic Squamish season in 2023! Until next time, folks. We're gearing up to send it even harder and better! 🤙🏄♂️🌪️
