I still am blown away at the shape of these trucks... That one with the Buick wheels would easily sell for 3k+ on the east coast... Same as that suburban.. shit... I need a car hauler. Or a bigger boat.

I know once they are crushed they are gone for ever. I owed a 1979 stepside GMC that I drove for years when I first bought the truck I put chrome steelies moon wheels with wide tires. Then someone hit the back fender and bumper. My Uncle was getting ride of his truck he had a short box so I swap the beds and made my truck into a fleet side everyone like the short box better I liked my stepside that's why I bought it in the first place. It had a smaller bed I was using it as a sport's truck anyways not a work TRUCK it ended up being a work TRUCK when the short box got on it. Then I built a 1972 GMC Suburban 3 door a whole lotta work went into building it 4 year's to make it better than new. That is a show truck that go's to car shows.

Its just character, it shows how hard working you are. My papa used to always tell me "you can always tell how hard a man works by his truck, his boots, and his hands" that was always his saying, and he proved that it was true. He owned a farm that raised horses and grew sod. He would wake up and work the farm for a few hours, then head to his day job as the head tech at cooper tires, then would come back to farm and work the rest of the night farming.

I can’t believe that Custom 10 had a 6 banger under the hood. Talking about being underpowered. A 502 would reside nicely under the hood. I love the 73-79 round headlight trucks.

Those square bodies were produced from 1973 through 1991, except 1987 was the last year for the regular cab pickup models "half ton & three quarter ton only", & 1989 for the one ton regular cab pickup models.

Not too long ago i found a set of rustfree c10 short bed bedside at a junkyard in central Florida for $200. a side ... My buddy grabbed them for his c10 restoration project & at another yard scored a brand new metal cowl induction hood for $50. He was debating if he wanted the hood. So, i bought it for him & said he decided he didn't want it later to sell it on Craigslist 🔧🤗🔨 junkyard life

@@ClassicRideSociety I live in California and when those truck's hit the yard people trip everything off them dash front fenders seat they will even take all the glass the doors because there is a big market for those truck parts they will sale them on the interweb. It took me 4 years to build my 1972 GMC Suburban I built better than new. Some parts I had to hunt for some were after market like the tail light's pretty much everything was done to it. Now I'm building a 1947 Chevy coupe stylemaster that's going to look old stock but have the modern running gear in it power steering power breaks.

I owned a 1979 GMC SHORT STEPSIDE and a short box. Then i built a 1972 GMC Suburban that took me 4 years to build while i was driving it. I gave it to my nephew that still owns it and takes it to car shows. The parts for that year are hard to come by so i put a newer interer in it out of a 2000s suburban. Where I live in California those truck's are stripped of everything I mean bare bones.

I know texas doesn't love old metal but like the little 4x4 that you showed... its very clean body wise and with quick scuff, cleaned of course, running with six cylinder... five grand all day long here and people fight for them. /switch doors and fenders so clean... just cab and fenders with a quick squirt of clear and you have it setting on pallet... three grand... just no dents... dings ok, high demand here cause this is chevy country! I love fords, duallys to be exact and they sell quick. I took clean cab and fenders set up and mounted it on a ton and a half, it was all chevy but frame was long wheelbase with dump set up on it... just no bed and got seven grand for it. took me three days cause some parts I needed was out of state= seven thousand day if everything had been there, I started at eight in morning and was done in first day for ninety per cent at three oh clock!! If I was in good health again I would of made deal with you and put money in your pocket to buy and ship. I don't know anyone to point you to or I would do it. If I had known about you say ten years ago, us partners would be setting very good for sure cause I got a feeling you wouldn't screw me
