I'm about to go round as well! I think the idea of a "natural nail shape" is pretty funny. Imagine nails with no tools. They'd just be broken all over. 😬

I've had square nails since I got into polish an nail art about 15 years ago. My index and middle fingers were always curved down over my fingertips. Going square was the only way I could get them to lay straight. After all these years of care my nails are much stronger. And I always have builder gel on hand for breaks and vacation manicures. Now I'm inspired to go back to my round shape. Yours nails always look great but I agree three shape is very flattering!

Oh dear I don’t think I was ready for this news today 😳 Jk they look great!! 😆 Mine look very much like yours in their grown out state! I find they break less with a rounder shape!

Love it!!! I first tried round/ soft almond nails about 5 years ago and literally have not looked back 😂 It was such a weird moment though! Up to that point, I’d ALWAYS had square nails with very slightly rounded corners lol I was 32 and had never even CONSIDERED any other nail shape 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😂 I love a nice tapered round/soft almond now though! It’s so flattering and feminine 🥹 You have always had such beautiful hands (I’ve always loved that cute little freckle on your index 🥹🥹🥹) and the square looked great but these gentle rounded nails are just chef’s kiss perfect 🤩 I love the shape on you! I can’t wait to see what you do with them! Looking forward to you experimenting with other shapes and lengths in the future too 🖤 Sending you much love as always and happy new year! 🖤

Hi! Do you buff the builder gel before adding the gel polish? Thank you!

Looks great :) I have just started on my 'shaping' journey, but I have decided on square or squoval nails. My nailbeds are more rounded, but my fingers are kind of 'chubby' (I have fairly long nail beds, but also a lot of skin next to the nail). And I feel it looks wired on me with too long nails. A square shape will 'maximise' the nail width, making the skin next to it less 'voluminous' in comparison. And 2-5 mm of free edge seems to be what suits my finger shape the best; practical, but still slightly elongated. If that makes any sense. 😅

When you cut the proximal nail fold (the skin around your nail) it will just make it grow back thicker and rougher. The Salon Life has a lot of great videos about nail care and nail anatomy.

Love them!!! I had square for my whole life and then I switched to round one day to try and I never went back!! Makes my fingers look longer and no corner breakage! 🎉

A lot of nail books say that rounded/oval shape looks really nice with a lot of people. I have been a lifelong square nail bae, and started using some full cover tips and went with oval. I really like how it looks, elongates my fingers ever so slightly. Hooray for having fun and trying a new shape 🥳
