I guessed correctly - the give away for the classic vibe was the more balanced tone (not too bass-heavy) as well as some tuning stability that you could pick up from the others. I had to flip a coin between the bullet and the affinity, but the bullet sounded like it was more bass heavy and a bit muddy in the low end. I have the classic vibe strat (anniversary version) and tele; as well as a stratocaster deluxe. They are all great value. I especially like the feel of the necks on the classic vibes. If you don't like the heavy lacquer you can either sand them down or just use a can of lubricant. Nice review as always Lando27!

Hey, great comparison (as usual!). What was interesting for me to see was what kind of pickups were used in all three, and gutting them out showed that the bullet and affinity had a bar magnets in their single coils (probably ceramic), and the CV had a proper single-coil construction with the pole-pieces being magnets. Well done!

Interesting. I really thought x was the bullet as it sounded like it was monotone without any type of dynamics. Definitely got Y right being the CV. The bullet’s pickups actually had a lot of dynamics and were definitely hotter than the CVs. Really impressive.

The bullet... wow that sounded pretty harsh! Of the guitars here, the vibe sounds best for sure. The affinity is actually excellent value and with a good set up can be a great instrument. Hearing the differences here, I feel like I might upgrade the pickups on mine sometime as I really like the light feel of it for standing up and playing for hours. Great video, thanks.

I think the Affinity is a great guitar for a beginner guitarist. I had the 25th anniversary addition but swapped out the pickups with vintage noiseless. It made a huge difference! But I think the classic vibe was my favorite out of the three because it sounds more like an American Fender Strat. You can't get that sort of "slinky hollow" sound from the other two. My roommate has a bullet and I think it was made for heavier music as the pickups are hotter and has the humbucker. It does sound good for heavy metal. But the classic vibe has that authentic Fender sound.

Y, Sounds great, much fuller sound than X, better twang, no doubt the highest quality mics. Z, Sounds too gainy/muddy, definitely the bullet Theres no question that the classic vibe is the better guitar. I guessed them correctly on the blind comparison but that is because I own a classic vibe and have recently repaired an affinity for a friend so have been playing them back to back - the bullet was the easiest to spot it sounded cheap with poor tone. For my money the affinity sounds better than the classic vibe - much to my annoyance when I repaired my friend's and started playing it, the vibe sounds a bit muddy and less 'strat' like in tone than the affinity - though I still wouldn't swap the classic vibe as it has a great neck.

Weight matters. I often hear reviewers not thinking twice about a heavy guitar being a negative. It's relative. A guy who's 6' tall is not going to think of many guitars as heavy. A woman who's 5'2" and 120 lbs, or a guy who's 70 and 165 lbs will have a much different view. Husband (72) recently was choosing between a sheckter and an ibanez. The sheckter weighed in at 10lbs +. That was a "hell no" moment for him.

Affinity strats are my favorite of all strats because of the thin bodies and how they vibrate. You feel it more than a thicker slab. Fender'll probably come out with a pricey version in the near future that nigh everybody will say is the perfect guitar, 'cause I think my 2015 Indonesian Affinity, I got for less than a hundred, that looks like it got dropped out of a moving car is one of the best guitars I've ever played.

The way of doing the tests is incredible, many times we like the products because we force ourselves to like them, this eliminates all bias. In my opinion, the Classic Vibe has the best sound, it is closer to the classic fender sound, on the other hand the affinity has a great sound for the price, it seems to me the best option to start. Finally, and always speaking in subjective terms, the bullet is terrible, it was drowning with dirty sounds and in a clean channel it sounds dull. Thanks for tremendous work, greetings from Chile.

The Bullet was the HSS, the other 2 were SSS. So I got the Bullet right, but I waited for the Bridge to be used and the Affinity & CV, those were different, but couldn't do any better than a coin flip guess. Not sure which I preferred either. The SSS was hard to choose from the KZitem audio. I was with you on the CV being a bit heavy for a Strat at 8+ lbs. The Affinity, that's close enough that a trem block upgrade gets it into the low 7 lb territory, which I did to the Affinity I have. I have a 2005 Bullet SSS HT, it's high 6 lb for weight, The Affinity needed the solid steel trem block upgrade to be the heavier of the 2 I have. I think all 3 would be a good buy. The humbucker on the Bullet does something the other 2 can't as SSS loaded. I think if I'm spending CV money, I really am considering the Player MiM. Or probably Sterling's Cutlass models.

@@landonbailey Cheap, overly saturated, tinny, and compressed. Like most guitars in that price range.

The classic vibe is the best affinity is a close second the bullet pickups were up too high if they were lower it would have had a better tone an clarity.I have had all three so that's it.

Hey Landon, thanks for the video. I am disabled and barely get by, but I just think that it was nice of you to put your two cents in about the Squire. I just bought one with a Peavey Microbass amp for $250 for both, the Squire is Baby Blue, sad, but it has a nice sound, I would like to paint it black, do you know how to do that? I mean that finish on the guitar is crazy neat. Have you any ideas? Thanks, if you don't get back to me, I will understand. You are busy and you are wonderful. Take care and I hope you and yours are okay with this COVID thing. I hope it will end, Stay home and stay safe brother.

Clean: Affinity and Classic have a much cleaner sound. Classic a bit fuller. Mid. CV sound a bit "quacky". The humbucker gives the Bullet away pretty easy in the bridge. I don't like the bridge sound of the CV. OD: Both the Affinity and CV sounds good. The bullet very muddy. Actually I only like the bullet in the OD bridge

I have an infinity with humbucker and I enjoy it, I mean it doesn't "chug" very well and i'm pretty sure the sour notes are just my noobishly week fingers.

Pity Fender discontinued the Squire standard strat. It was to good. So they discontinued it. I just bought 2 before they were gone. 22 fretts. Alnico 3 pups. Two point trem. Candy Apple Red and cherry sunburst. Just change pots and it's a great guitar. Pups work ok but not much taper.

Y was the best, X was also pretty good, but a little behind the Y, and the Z was considerably bellow both, but it's sounded good

Thanks for the thorough compare. How do they keep in tune? Squiers have a reputation for needing upgraded tuners. Appreciate the input.

I'm not a big trem user, so tuning was alright. depends how much you bend I guess. :)
