That surprisingly got dark really fast, The fact that the lore was that Mr. Krabs was forcing SpongeBob to kill bottomites and turn them into meat just so he could feed his daughter Pearl to survive is truly twisted. And now that both SpongeBob and Krabs are dead Pearl can’t seem to live anymore since she has trouble moving truly sad and dark at the same time.
@bassetstar7629
Жыл бұрын
That’s right. The thing about Pearl in this video is where I believe it’s based on the episode “Growth Spouts”, but this time, she’s given a room behind the Krystal Krab’s office where she only sees programs on the television while she lies overburdened and fused to the floor from her growth spurts, because she seemed forced by Mr. Krabs to remain satiated in order to grow larger to the point that he’ll probably, with the assistance of SpongeBob, harvest his daughter to satisfy his economic hunger. After their deaths at the hands of the police, Pearl was still watching her program, breathing heavily until her starvation put her out of her misery and ended her days of the torment that her father forced her body into.

Three months late to the party, but I didn't expect the final scene with Pearl to hit me as much in the feels as it did. Her watching that video, which someone else in the comments recognized as a woman with depression back in the 1950s (I think I might be remembering wrong) staying inside for about three weeks at a time just really crushed me, knowing that she must have dealt isolated in a similar manner. Who even knows how long she has been in there at that point? Santiago said he was two days late, but Bikini Bottom acts strangely in this universe, with SpongeBob seemingly being able to manipulate reality in one episode. The most heartbreaking part to me is realizing that she probably starved, which, needless to say, is extremely painful. And going alone, no matter the way you do, sounds really depressing. The worst part is when you think about it, it starts to get darker when you think about Pearl's situation and what it would be like to be in it. I could go into more detail, but I just don't know how to put the way it made me feel into words and this comment is already very long, I think. I know I hate reading long comments. So, I will just try to explain it in a single sentence that keeps popping into my brain, as cheesey as that might sound: She's alive but never got to live a life. (Edit: Something horrifying I just realized is that if Plankton told the police, Pearl might've had a chance to survive after Krabs was taken away. Sure, he might not have had that in mind, but he probably would've mentioned Pearl because he knew about it. Sadly, he was captured, so Karen simply told the police about Plankton being kidnapped. Nobody even knew where Pearl was. If Krabs didn't put his love for money first (which is probably why he was grinding up citizens instead of buying or making Pearl food) she could've had a chance at life. If Plankton, her dad's arch nemesis, didn't get caught by her dad, Pearl could've lived, probably in a much more loving home if taken in by someone after her dad was arrested.)

I think one thing that seems to be overlooked is the fact that death actually seems to have an impact or meaning in this episode, at least to me. With most of these episodes, SpongeBob or Patrick or whoever else stars in the video end up dying one way or another, only to be right back in the next episode with no form of explanation whatsoever, and it's just treated as a normal thing. Here though, with SpongeBob and Mister Krabs dead, it ends up leading to Pearl dying as well. Not because she was shot or poisoned or chopped up or whatever, but because the only two people that cared for her were gone, leading her to starve to death. So death actually has consequences in this episode. I really like that.

This was both entertaining and horrifying. Pearl was so disjointed from the rest of the stiff, primitive-based models, breathing like a heaving monster and modeled like a full character. And that ending was just surreal, and felt like it was from a different universe. The camera's also incredible, using different shot techniques to really sell the feeling of uneasiness. Also that gag with Santiago being late so the plot could progress, lmao

I wasn't expecting this to be based on more than one episode but seeing Pearl in the ending broke my heart. Without saying a line of dialogue, Pamtri managed to capture the feeling of someone losing hope and resigning to their fate. Her father is no longer providing her the nutrition she needs to stay alive. In fact, she probably believes he abandoned her for being a burden on him. And she can't help herself since she is unable to move at all. But what makes it even more heartbreaking is how the actual episode ends. What eventually helps Pearl recover from her growth spurt was food made with love. And it goes without saying that there's no love in just grounding up innocent creatures into meat while also stealing their cash. Even if Mr. Krabs is still doing this out of love like in the episode it's based on, it's not what Pearl needed. He didn't take the time to make something out of love. He instead resorted to the cheapest (and most inhumane) thing he could do, putting his love for money over his daughter. And unlike that episode, there is no resolution. Pearl is doomed to die a slow and painful death.

I only noticed after reading your comment that Pearl stopped breathing at the end. Every time I come back to this video I see more and more how in Pamtri’s absence, they’ve become a really frickin good animator. The new cop fish looking like an actual 3D version of the one from the show as opposed to the other bikini bottom citizens (they were made in 2017 or so), HD Pearl, the meat, and the realistic water at the end symbolizing how Pearl likely felt in her last few days after Krabs’ death: so far away from anything, it was as if the room she was in was floating out in the middle of the ocean far away from society.

Usually, when it comes to the double K, he's also there as well. But he's not in this one. Alone at home, perhaps? Or maybe...? I feel like Pamtri fused two different episodes into one: one being literally "Squirrel Jokes", and the other is Pearl getting too big and needs to be fed to somehow shrink herself and her overfeeding.

There is an episode of SpongeBob where pearl has a growth spurt that caused her to grow big and unable to move. She just lays there begging to be fed more. (It ended with her eating a Krabby Patty and ending it because the food was made out of love) It's the same situation here but darker, so she starved to death at the end there

@@y.9645 I almost forgot about that episode! dam that makes the end pretty awful to to think about, especially just by following the expression in her eye in the end as it goes from fear and panic after hearing the people feeding her are dead and nobody knows where she is, to somewhat acceptance as she looks back at the tv.

I was not expecting the animation quality to go up so much, but then again 2 years makes a starking difference. Beautiful work on this Pamtri, usually I would see your stuff as just dark cg memes alone but this was unironically so beautiful the further it proceeded! You've genuinely improved so much even while sticking to the crude low-poly look as well! Even the tad bit of self-awareness gave it oomph too, but just enough where it felt thoughtful! Please take all the time you need till the next one, your wellness is your top priority first and even if it may be a while till the next one, we're just happy to see your crazy chaotic stuff back! Take care of yourself, and stay, sadistically creative

Dude, your health definitely comes first! I have mental health issues, and am a recovering addict, so I know how it is! What's wild is, I've been really working on myself the last two years as well. I now have two years clean, and I just thought about you today. So I haven't watched any of your videos since then. Thanks for posting! Edit: Everybody's saying how his animation has "improved" or "gotten better". I believe he already has great animation skills, but just decided to use the surreal style he does. He just decided to use really good animation to show off the skills he already possessed.
