Original Ayurveda products are expensive but super healthy. Normally Sri Lankan people won't buy the original ones but half original ones, because of the price. It is nice of you to talk about this. and the Odel is one of the main brands in Sri Lanka.

I think, a lot cheaper and more effective moisturizing oil you can get from SL is extra virgin coconut oil or "Thambili" oil(The orange color coconut). Sandalwood oil is usually expensive, 'cos lot of work go into extracting it.

I use cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil. It's a good to consume around half a teaspoon everyday or every few days, depending on your body type to improve your general health, and most certainly your skin will show that improvement in general health as it is the largest organ in our body that does lot of detoxifying if not the most. For girls, you can even buy scented ones with sandalwood, lavender, etc. massaging a tiny bit of it to your scalp, face etc before bed can be good. There are so many other native sinhalese oils and medicines. I bought a few when I was there. You can use coconut oil for cooking as well, and it's really tasty. I only use it occasionally for cooking, as I don't think cooking with oil everyday is not a good thing for long term health, for most of us. Did you try coconut sambal(or pol sambola as they call it in sinhalese) while you were there? It is hot, but pretty tasty! :)

Thank you! Haha, the silver tips are basically tea. You put them inside an infuser and pour boiled water over it. :)
