Meaning of shloka
Verse 1:
prātarnamāmi jagatāṃ jananyāḥ caraṇāmbujam |
I offer my morning salutations to the lotus feet of the Mother of the world,
śrīmat tripurasundaryāḥ vanditāyā harādibhiḥ||
who is worshipped by Lord Shiva and other deities.
Verse 2:
prātastripurasundaryāḥ vrajāmi caraṇāmbujam |
In the morning, I approach the lotus feet of Tripurasundari,
harirharo viriñciśca sṛṣṭyādīn kurute yayā ||
by whom Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, and Lord Brahma perform creation, preservation, and destruction.
Verse 3:
prātastripurasundaryāḥ namāmi padapaṅkajam |
In the morning, I bow down to the lotus feet of Tripurasundari,
yatpādyamambu śirasi bhāti gaṅgā maheśituḥ ||
whose feet shine on the head of Lord Shiva like the Ganges.
Verse 4:
prātaḥ pāśāṅkuśa śara cāpahastāṃ namāmyaham |
In the morning, I bow down to the one who holds the noose, goad, arrow, and bow,
udyadādityasaṅkāśāṃ śrīmat tripurasundarīm ||
who shines like the rising sun, the beautiful Tripurasundari.
Verse 5:
prātarnamāmi pādābjaṃ yayedaṃ bhāsate jagat |
I offer my morning salutations to the lotus feet by whom this world is illumined,
tasyāḥ tripurasundaryāḥ yatprasādānnivartate ||
by whose grace one attains liberation.
Verse 6:
yaḥ śloka pañcakamidaṃ prātarnityaṃ paṭhennaraḥ |
Whoever reads these five verses every morning,
tasmai dadyāt ātmapadaṃ śrīmat tripurasundarī ||
will be given the state of the Self by Tripurasundari.
Verse 7:
kāmeśvarīṃ parāṃ īḍe kādihādisvarūpiṇīṃ |
I adore the supreme Kameshwari, who has the form of the letters of the alphabet,
mātṛkāvarṇaliptāṅgī mahāśrīcakramadhyagāṃ ||
whose body is adorned with the letters of the alphabet and who dwells in the great Sri Chakra.
Verse 8:
ānandaṃ ānandakaraṃ prasannaṃ jñānasvarūpaṃ nijabodhasatvaṃ|
I bow to the divine guru who is blissful, the giver of joy, serene, the embodiment of knowledge, and the essence of self-awareness
yogīndramīḍhyaṃ bhavarogavaidyaṃ śrīmadguruṃ nityamahaṃ namāmi ||
I worship the divine guru, who is the best among yogis, the physician who cures the disease of worldly existence, and who is always present.
trailokyacaitanyamaye pareśi śrīsundari tvaccaraṇājñayaiva|
O divine and beautiful Shri Sundari, who pervades the three worlds, by the command of your feet,
prātaḥ samutthāya tava priyārthaṃ saṃsārayātrāṃ anuvartayiṣye||
Having risen in the morning, I will follow the journey of worldly existence for your sake.
Verse 9:
saṃsārayātrāṃ anuvartamānaṃ tvadājñayā śrītripure pareśi |
I am following the journey of samsara (cycle of birth and death), as per your command, oh Lord of Sri Tripura (goddess Shodashi).
spardhā tiraskāra kalipramāda bhayāni mām mābhibhavantu mātaḥ ||
May jealousy, contempt, delusion, and fear not overpower me, mother (goddess).
jānāmi dharmaṃ na ca me pravṛttiḥ jānāmyadharmaṃ na ca me nivṛttiḥ |
I know what is right, but I am not inclined to follow it, and I know what is wrong, but I am unable to give it up.
tvayā hṛṣīkeśi hṛdisthayā:'haṃ yathā niyukto:'smi tathākaromi ||
Oh Goddess of the senses, with my heart fixed on you, I will do as you direct me to do.
