with the proper care, i believe the Gateway Arch of St. Louis will stand strong as long as humans do.

That was the whole point, they said 250 YEARS AFTER PEOPLE were around. Why don't people pay attention? It was just a tiny short little clip.

Longer. Much longer. It's a temple to Athena, much like the Parthenon. And we know how that's been able to stand the test of time. To be clear, I'm both a Life After People fan AND a Percey Jackson fan. There are certain elements of Percey Jackson I believe are real, to put it one way. Gateway Arch being Athena's temple is one of them.

I am with MissouriElevators on this one. I had to flag the video because it seems to be made by a stupid psychic or something. This is why they are doing constant maintenance on it right now. so that chances of a collapse of it falling will be cut way down.

Athena will never let this happen. She'll be there for her temple, after people are gone. The arch will become centre of "New Athens", a city of children of Athena. Her son designed the arch after all.

So the corrosion is more likely to occur near the bottom where chlorides have already inititated. However, when people are gone, there wont be a source of chlorides and other contaminants (i.e. aerated road salts and pollution from nearby power plants) and that SS skin will be able to stand up to 'just rain' pretty well.

First, the animation on the structure is designed wrong. And second, it won't collapse like that. Especially only after a mere 250 years. I would give it 800 years with neglect.
