Hi lain, I'm just starting this swap in my datsun! I see you switched to a different engine after this...didn't end up liking it?

How have you gone with the bike clutch since the install?

Interesting conversion, I see it's a Honda V4 motorcycle engine, not being a bike person, I've never heard of the ST1100

Yes it is from a Honda "sports tourer" that makes 100hp and weighs about 95kg for motor and trans

There are pluses and minuses here, on the upside she pulls harder than before and accelerates stronger than any car engine but on the downside its a bit harder to do hill starts or smooth take offs because there is far less flywheel and a clutch that is very much on or off, with practice it can be done but a noob to this car will look less than elegant. Over all though I am happy with the result she makes a great noise when given a bit of wellie and I am continuing to refine the installation and next thing will be to fit softer springs on the front to lower it a bit because at present the front sits about 2 inches higher than it did with the car engine , Likewise I want to upgrade to disc brakes whcih is quite doable using parts from a later model triumph If you are contemplating putting your engine into a similar car I say that it can be a great result but somethings will be more expensive than you think (like my drive shaft adapter which cost be 800AUD) and doing an electric reverse definitely rubber mount the engine though, I didn't do so in the first instance and had to redo it engine hight could be an issue in some cars but in say a Morris minor it would be a really simple install
