In the first episode of the two-part series looking at Jim Steranko's Captain America, I discuss Steranko's love of the staccato panel formation, seeing the same action unravel slowly to build a certain pacing and rhythm, and how that plays into the panels around these moments. Steranko knows very well how to pace a comic and specifically scenes within a page, so I wanted to take a dive into the beat pattern of these moments.
