This weeks I joined fellow KZitemr James to check out an eerie abandoned island fort off the West Wales coast. Stack Rock Fort dates back to the mid 19th century and it was built to defend the Royal Naval Dockyard at Pembroke Dock against a Napoleonic invasion. It's suggested up to 200 soldiers were once stationed here but these days it's home only to colonies of sea birds seeking shelter from the crashing waves.
Stack Rock Fort is available to visit for day visits and you can even spend the night if your brave enough for the first time since its colossal cannons finally fell silent.
