Are/where you a teacher? One of the best instructional videos I've seen. I'm new to VCarve Pro and CNC after 30 years in higher ed as an IT director providing educational technology support. I know tenured faculty that couldn't do half the job you did on this video. Long winded way (side effect of higher ed) of saying great video.

Thanks for watching! I went to school to be a teacher, but never actually ended up being a teacher. Got into sales and fell in love with it. I do coach other salespeople, and I coach basketball.... All forms of teaching I suppose. 😂

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Just ordered a CNC and learning VCarve in the process until it arrives and assembled. Although I’m self teaching myself via YT, it’s been relatively easy to pick up. Until I tried text on text! Lost 3 days to try to follow, copy and learn from many others. And although I did every step they did, somehow they must have edited some steps out and also left me more confused. Watched you video, followed along and got it right first shot! But more importantly, now understand it and comfortable with this skill. Definitely subbed and will go through all your other videos. Again… thank you!!! 😓 🎉

Hi, I really learned alot by watching your video about stacked text. It was not the only one I watched. You had text and numbers in your sign. I made a sign by following along but I had 2 text layers. I had to weld and join all text to curves. I will be checking more of your videos. Thanks.

Enjoyed the class, which is saying a lot. You are an excellent instructor in my opinion for data that has to be mean something when put in the correct field. You nailed it. I'll be back and I don't even have a CNC yet at age 70, but a background in trad-milling of woodworking but much slower these days. Oh, I like IDC as well. Garrett, another good instructor. So glad to have found your channel. Happy New Year!

for the second cut (0.2) do you set z on original height or on the 0.1 first cut?

I set it to the original height of the material and let it cut down.

I followed the instructions but with different wording. When I preview my tool paths my cut out for the #’s isn’t readable? Any ideas as to what I’m doing wrong.

Are the #'s just not there at all or are they chopped up and hard to read?

They are there as if it’s not cutting out the numbers all the way like they are connected in places
@twoelmbuilds

@@jessekurisko5659 hmmm, without seeing it, hard to figure it out. Are your letters too close together for the bit you are using to clear out all the wood around them? Try either kerning the letters apart a little or better yet, try using a smaller diameter endmill to see if that changes the look in the rendering

Not bad, but you should zoom in when your putting or clicking things into the left design tab, can't read some of the text types

What was the actual machining time?
@twoelmbuilds

Shooting from memory, I think it was at 30 to 40ish minutes in vecric. I don't know actual cutting time because I was trying to set up camera angles and stuff. But it was right about that time frame.
