I agree. I would try putting some wood in maybe a foot high or so. Then put a wire from the middle of the fence and at the posts so the wire is kinda on top of the logs. And then continue it on as you put more wood in. Good luck. Like your channel and your splitter.

I believe your plan is going to work Jeremiah. The t posts and fencing should do the trick. You will have some bulging, but maybe you could stretch a couple wires across one side to the other to help keep it a little more rigid. We are having the same hot and humid weather in Cincinnati.

Jeremiah! I think this is an awesome idea and I actually have all these materials so I’ll be following for updates. You may have to do some wire cross bracing from t post to t post to keep some structure rigidity depending on how bad the tposts bow/bend with the weight on them but that’s an easy fix with some wire! Looking forward to an update as you fill it.

I think you have a great idea going Jeremiah. I think if you have plenty pallets I would run an extra row down the middle for more air movement. I’m curious how much the wire will stretch at the top once full. Maybe only go to 3 foot, or add a 2x4 to the top of the wire. Your t post can hold a lot but wood can push pretty hard at 4 foot. You got a great idea, let’s follow this. I just bought 2 rolls 50 feet log @ 75.00 each. Nice you had most of your supplies on hand. Have a great day.

As it fills run a brace wire from side to side. To connect the posts. . Possibly go closer to 3 foot apart on posts. . The wider gaps in the boards will allow a few chunks of wood to reach the ground.

Better to run the wire on the inside of the post so the wood pushes against the wire and not pulling the wire just where it's tied. I got over 150 tposts free from pulling removing old fence lines. That's how I made my rows. Tposts every 8ft for 200 ft. Pallets on the ground to stack my sorted firewood by species. I have a few spots 10 rows wide already but most are 6 rows wide. I've got over 140 facecords stacked already and 40 of that is wood split last year so it's super seasoned Oak and campfirewood. U can always get ibc totes to fill with chunks to place around the bin to support the wire. Loose fill dries faster than stacking it tight. If I had a 24ft firewood conveyor I'd just piles cones on pallets but since I cut and split the wood into a pile right where it's getting stacked. Stacking a full cord goes pretty fast . My Ideal setup is to just make a kiln and have a dry bunker shed on concrete to store all the firewood to scoop with the skidsteer bucket to fill 2 cords and go deliver with the dumptrailer . Bundle sales have been decent but wish I would get bought out everyday tho. Need to make 20 bundles every 2/3 days

Looks like your bin should work well for you Jeremiah. If you get some bulging on the sides, just add a t-post where needed or stand a pallet on its side with a post behind it to hold it. For the first time last year, I split wood into a big pile (for my parents and extra for me) and it dried just fine. However, I still stack MY firewood so I know exactly how much fits in my shed at home for the winter burn.
