Awww, man. I'm right there with ya. I was diagnosed in June 2015 with Stage 4B metastatic colorectal cancer with mets to lymph nodes, both lungs and one adrenal. I was given a decent chance of living one year, only 8% of making it to 5 years. So this is the start of my 5th year and I'm still chugging along. Get breaks in chemo from time to time, and still work every day. Even on chemo days. Because yeah. Just gotta keep going even when it hurts. Here's to us.... beating the odds one day at a time. Cheers!

@@jocelynmosqueda5793 Hey! I'm doing pretty well actually. I am now 5 years and 1.5 months out from diagnosis, and still working every day (although from home now thanks to COVID). So I beat the 8% chance. Yay! I do now have 2 mets on my liver. Boo! I had hateful chemo today and feeling pretty crummy. Boo! But somehow I'm still asymptomatic, and on my off- chemo weeks, my two eldest grandchildren (9 & 6) come up for about 5 days. Yay! I have so much to be thankful for, and I count you among those blessings. Thank you so much for reaching out! Days like today I do get discouraged, but you have totally lifted my spirits. Hey John I was diagnosed 11/12/17 with stage 3 b adenocarcinoma,2 tumors in my upper right lobeI was 52 at the time and in pretty good shape from years of daily physical work. The tumor had wrapped around my mediastinum esophagus and all the nerves and arteries between my head and heart.Three different doctors gave me a 15% chance to make it 5 years.I insisted with everyone I would be fine, that I felt to good physically to be dying. The surgeon that was recommended by all three of the oncologist told me from the start that he couldn’t do the surgery because of the proximity to The mediastinum. After 7 rounds of chemo there was little change in the tumor. After 20 radiation treatments there was very little change and after 40 treatments only about 10% of change. On 4/3/18 I was scheduled for a mediastinoscopy to see if the cancer was in the nerves and lymph nodes in the mediastinum.4 hours later I woke up to find the surgeon at the last minute to go ahead and remove the upper lobe no matter what.He told me that in the few weeks between my last scan and surgery that the tumor had shrank by 60% so he was able to remove it.After the removal he took 40 biopsies that all turned out to be negative.I have just had my second pet scan that turned out be clear. What I would tell anyone is to never give up,never accept that you’re not going to make it thru.Keep a positive attitude and good luck to you.

My Mom has stage 4 Small cell carcinoma. was diagnosed officially sometime between May and June and they right away put her through chemotherapy... a month and a half ago she FINSHED her chemo! but two weeks ago she went into see her oncologist and get the results from her most recent CT scan and she found out her cancer had metastasized.... to her liver... they already knew from the get-go it was metastatic due to it being in her lungs, stomach and pancreas.... now she's undergoing a NEW chemotherapy treatment for the cancer in her liver... she CAN'T undergo radiation because she has a VERY large open wound which was caused from a SEVERE case of necrosis... which put her in ICU in April and she was in there for 2 weeks but still in the hospital then moved to a rehabilitation center where they discovered the cancer.... But keep on fighting! my Mom is THEE strongest woman I know and I know you're strong as well! the trials and tribulations in life just make us STRONGER

bharath rangampet - Thank you very much for the kind words, I truly appreciate it. Unfortunately, most people don’t view me that way at all. In fact, sometimes I actually have to provide proof because they simply don’t believe me. Unfortunately, all of those dreams I promised to fulfill if I lived fell by the wayside except for the fact that I bought an overpriced BMW that I got rid of and finally have a German Shepherd as a pet. Technically, two. Everything else, nothing. The haunting question that cannot be answered is why I was chosen when others who have children don’t make it. In 2016, during a routine annual upper endoscopy, I was diagnosed with esophageal dysphasia. I underwent two and a half years of cryotherapy and radio frequency ablation. My life hasn’t been the same since. Even work kicks me aside and I’m made fun of for losing weight. I don’t know if you ever watched the movie Jacobs Ladder. Sometimes I honestly believe I simply refuse to let go. If you never saw it, I highly recommend you do. I think it’s a compelling movie and really makes one thing. Anyway, when I stumble across a complete stranger like you who posts such a sincere comment, I find it touching and again, I thank you. Over the years I have come to find that something a stranger will say or do something that no so called friend ever will. Thank you again Sir.

bharath rangampet - Thank you again. You are more than nice, which is a treat since most of the comments within KZitem consist of arguments, slurs and profanity. God bless you for volunteering. I always wanted to but when it comes to cancer, it’s a very touchy situation. It’s just as important not to say something as it is to say something. When a person volunteers Patient to Patient, it’s a very delicate situation. Right now, I’m almost 53 and work for the city of NY. My job is dangerous and they just put me on temporary restriction duty. In the meantime, they do offer retirement disability but it’s difficult to get. However, everyone tells me that I have a good chance. Truth be told, we don’t know what the future holds. I try to stay positive but I’ve researched enough to know that my odds decrease with every passing year. Yes, the older one becomes, the shorter their life expectancy is but mine, mine is even shorter. There is an old saying that terrifies me and it’s, that which doesn’t not kill you will most likely come back to try again. As much as I dislike admitting this, there is a constant battle between mind and body and my body always wins.

my sister died just 12 hours ago , a year and a half earlier she was diagnosed with breast cancer which has already spread into her bones and liver , she was doing ok with the chemotherapy until the devastating news that her caner has reached her brain , she lived a horrible life after that for three months with the cancer eating her brain , she broke everybody's heart last week she was totally paralyzed , she couldn't eat she couldn't recognize her own kids , at the end she gave up fighting , I will never forget her last 10 days 🙍 1980 - 2018

First of all, I am sorry for your diagnosis. Your video powerful. I am currently in my 2nd year of medical school in the states and we were studying lung pathology when in my boredom I searched "lung cancer" on KZitem and your video came up. Its one thing to read about adenoCA and see what gene mutations are linked with it and it is a whole other beast and mountain to see a real live person affected by it. Affected by the disease in the EXACT way we learned it. It had an enormous impact on me and on the way I study. This is not "just" a disease. This is something that people suffer from. It's easy to read about a disease, its symptoms, prognosis, or whatever but seeing a person affected by it gave me a jolt back to reality. especially when it is terminal disease afflicting someone so young and cutting their lifespan by an easy 40 years. I hope you are well. I will keep checking your channel for updates. We are in this together.
