Dr. Puru Dhawaqn talks about creatinine levels and how to check GFR levels. In a patient when kidneys fail, the levels of creatinine accumulates in the blood.
Kidney failure is usually caused by :
1. High blood pressure
2. Diabetes
3. IgA Nephropathy
4. Polycystic kidney
KFT test is used to evaluate how well kidneys are working. Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) tells how much blood passes through glomeruli each minute. If GFR is 90 or above the person do not suffer from kidney disease. If a patient gets 90+ GFR and protein is excreted in the body the person is suffering from stage 1, kidney failure. In stage 1 patient only gets frothy urine and no other symptoms occur. At Stage 2, the patient gets GFR levels between 60 to 90 along with protein in the urine. At stage 3, the patient gets have GFR levels between 30-60 and creatinine levels are measured is 3 to 4. At stage 4, the patient has GFR between 15-30 and creatinine level can reach up to 6. Low GFR levels cause fatigue, uncontrolled blood pressure, the patient becomes anemic, swelling in legs, urea and creatinine levels increases. At stage 5, Patients gets GFR between 15-30 and person goes for dialysis.
A patient needs to follow a proper diet as an unhealthy diet can worsen the condition of kidney failure. At Sai sanjivani we provide KFRT treatment that is kidney function restoration treatment which helps the kidney to restore its function with the help of ayurvedic medicines. In the first step, we work on the cause of kidney failure and in the next step will restore the kidneys function by boosting its function.
