Enjoyed the video as usual Ben. Just curious why you don't use traditional eighties century finishes. And glad your little girl is around. She just adds to the video. TC

Depends on what I’m going for. In this case, the color I was going for to match years of use was best achieved using the stains shown. Truoil is sorta a modern / period finish as it has elements of both. Hands down it is more weather hardy as far as wear and tear goes. Just my methods however. One of many I use. Thanks for watching!

Nice job...thanks. For walnut, I like a black filler (Filla-In-A-Bag), orange or reddish brown dye, and BLO tinted with alkanet root powder. Use varnish if a shiny or more durable finish is needed.

I used to hand engrave patch boxes and all the other metal furniture. Maybe I’ll get back into it, looks tempting

The pure form is very dangerous. This is a very diluted form of it and I don’t sand it for all it worth. However, not for everyone. Just sharing my methods.

Myself myself, I don't wall that stock.I would not use any Stain, I would use Lindsey loyal and that's it.

Yes just oil is always an option. Colors on originals varied from light amber yellow to almost black. I chose a shade in the middle as it is a color I’ve seen on originals.
