Yes Steve I’m a little leery myself, I should probably have some conventional hoses standing by, but you never know they seem pretty good, but that will depend on what happens when coolant is in them, thanks for your support 😀😀

I’ve never used a stainless steel hose before , they look cool Mike . Lots of great changes to your truck that will make it very reliable for long cruises . They say that trial and error are all fun parts of hot rodding ….take care buddy.

It's better to find out sooner than later. Maybe you can get away with a smaller fan since you're running a shroud. Nice work as always. I like the hoses and the fittings. Good luck

Hi Mike. I use the stainless steel radiator hose for my upper on my 55. It would not fit the water pump side because it doesn’t go to 2 inches. So I had to buy a rubber flexible hose. The radiator shroud should work the way it is as long as you have clearance, when the fan is on the motor to the shroud, and then you could build the outer round part and use the parts that you cut off the shroud for that fill-in. I’ve never seen those sold like that where you did it yourself. But there are a lot of plastic radiator shrouds that I’ve worked on that are shaped just like that. I hope you’re having a great day Mike.

Yeah Mike I think I can get it to fit the water pump it should be the same size as the lower radiator out, grabbed a water pump at the parts house and measured, I did some more mockup after the video and figured out just what you said about using the extra shroud material to close it up should work great, now I just need to get over to the truck and work on it , it’s hard when it’s 175 miles away, the frame shortening went real good made a few videos of that last week, thank you for all the input I really do appreciate it Mike, have a great weekend 😀😀

Hey Mike. I like the look of the hoses they should work fine. On the fan shroud don't cut down to deep and make your shroud weak from side to side. Keep the videos coming. Talk to you later Buddy

Hey Don, yes once i get over to the truck i will try to space it as far from the radiator as i can, it's a bummer not having the truck on this side of the mountains, little by little we'll get it, thanks for coming by buddy😁😁

The radiator hose connections seem real good, that stainless flex radiator hose being very dependable is a concern,,,,there were a few guys that used that on their Hot Rods when I lived in Las Vegas , most weren’t to pleased with performance or durability. But it’s always over 100 degrees there too. Give it a try maybe fine in your application. Good video 💯🆒👍

@@DesertRatFabrication, I think it has something to do with stainless and aluminum being dissimilar metals with a small contact point between them , the corrosion causes failure.

Great video Mike, that's a big fan. Shouldn't be a problem for you to fab up the mods. I am not real fond of those stainless hose kits, depending on the grad of stainless it doesn't deal with vibration well. Take care.
@DesertRatFabrication

Hi Glen, yeah once i get this fabed up i will find some regular hoses for back up and keep an eye on the stainless ones, right now with not having the truck at the main house i probably wouldn't have the right hoses to hook it up at first, one of the problems i see is that i will have to find a lower hose that's the same size as the water pump for the radiator side , when i looked at a stock lower hose at the parts house it's bigger at the water pump than the radiator, where's the aluminum radiator is the same size, don't they make flexible hoses that are the same size on both ends, if so i could always get a long one and cut it to size, and the top hose should be pretty easy because the aluminum radiator top is the same size as the thermostat, i am going to run over this morning and see if i can get long hoses in both sizes, i will get back to you later and let you know what i find, thank you for the input, talk to you later, will you be putting out a video soon😁😁

@@DesertRatFabrication I think you can get flexible hoses with different end sizes? Hoping to get a video up about the tonneau cover soon.
