Certainly! Here is an excerpt from one of Joseph Stalin's speeches in English. This is from his speech delivered on November 7, 1941, on the 24th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution: --- "Comrades! Citizens! Brothers and sisters! Men of our army and navy! I am addressing you, my friends! In the days of the most critical moments, when the enemy's forces have temporarily, for the moment, achieved success on some sectors of the front, some men have lost heart, have become downcast, have lost hope and have begun to panic. They are a small minority; it is only a small handful of whiteguards and deserters from the Red Army who have become downcast and lost heart. But this handful has proved capable of doing us enormous harm by sowing panic. There is no doubt that we have now to deal with a major battle on our hands. But it must be observed that the enemy, too, has had his fill of fighting and is tired. This means that the fate of the battle will be decided by the firmness, endurance, and steadfastness of the two contending sides. The war has brought about a complete revolution in the rear of the enemy's troops. The population is everywhere up in arms against the enemy. The partisan movement has flared up in the enemy's rear to unheard-of dimensions, and this movement is harassing the enemy incessantly. You know of the successful advance of our troops on several sectors of the front. You know of the stubborn battles our troops are waging. You know that the enemy is sustaining heavy losses. You know that the enemy is in a difficult position, that he has no way out. You know that his last hope of breaking our resistance has been shattered. The situation on the Soviet-German front has become a major military and political problem. For the enemy it is a problem of life or death. For us it is a problem of organizing the rout of the enemy, of completely smashing him. I know that some of our men are worried and are tormented by uncertainty, that some have lost heart and have become downcast, and that some are letting their weapons drop from their hands. I know this. But to yield to panic, to yield to unexpected reverses, to yield to undeserved defeat-this means to betray our country, to betray our army, to betray our great people. Our cause is just. The enemy will be beaten. We shall drive the enemy from our country, and we shall win final victory. Long live our great Motherland, her liberty and her independence! Under the banner of Lenin, forward to victory!" --- Please note that this is just an excerpt from one of Stalin's speeches, and his speeches covered a wide range of topics and contexts during his leadership of the Soviet Union.

What a deadly man Stalin, the man of steel, was. He's the dictators' dictator, the archetype of a tyrant. He sat up all night with lists of names, putting a cross beside those who were about to be executed and an X for those who were spared a little longer. It's estimated that he personally saw to the death of more than half a million people. On the final list was the name of Jesjov, "the bloody dwarf". He was the chief of Stalin's secret police NKVD and got his name for his stature and murderous personality. Stalin put a cross beside his name, called him into his office and accused him for the great purge, calling him a murderous swine, an enemy of the people and an agent of Germany. Jesjov knew better than to protest. He was taken to the notorious Ljubljanka prison, tortured and executed, just like he personally had tortured and shot lots of people. There's an estimated 1 million plus who were directly executed or died from the hardship in Gulag. At 66 years old, Stalin's enemies, real or imagined, were wiped out and he alone had all the power in the communist empire that covered one sixth of the world's landmass. There's a British film called "The Inner Circle" that I can recommend. But it wouldn't be fair not to commend the man for the industrialization of the Soviet Union. Without that, the western world had taken control over the commodities, particularly in Russia. Hitler wanted "Lebensraum" for the German people in the east at the expense of the Slav people he saw as "untermenschen", but who finally defeated him. The sacrifices it took for the Soviet people to industrialize their land, will perhaps forever shadow the end result. But without it, the USSR would have stood defenseless against the German armies. The political consequences of a German victory would simply have been unacceptable. Hitler through his armies out in an existential war that Russia had to win or perish. Stalin will remain a controversial person in every aspect of the word, held in awe by some and detested by others. Personally I can only point to the fact that he is legendary and his life's work remains until today. 🇸🇪♥️🇷🇺

@@phillippalmer3124 Stalin's henchmen in the secret police, the Okhrana (Guard) killed every potential leader and every person with enough influence to organize a resistance against the regime. Don't forget that he chased Trotsky all over the world, until his agents finally found him in Mexico, where he was killed with an axe. Such was Stalin's paranoia that he personally saw to more than half a million people's death. He worked through the lists at night and said that he never slept as good on his couch as when he had exterminated his (real or perceived) enemies. Bulgakov, the author, has said that he got a phonecall from Stalin three o'clock in the morning that shook him. Who can blame him? Historians claim 1.5 million dead. Another 20 million died in WW2, so it's a big part of the Soviet Union's population killed right there. That and many more was left behind by the totalitarian ideologies of the 20th century. It's a challenge for every sound mind that there are people who still believe in these ideologies, despite that they have the facts. People was shot, gased, tortured and enslaved under horrendous circumstances, but it's not uncommon that people call themselves "socialists". No balanced person in the western world would present himself as a Nazi or a fascist, but the ideas are still around. The popular Ukranian militias, the Azov Regiment and the Kraken nationalists, celebrate the Ukranian SS openly and they wear the patches on their uniforms. It's easy to call these insane people politically confused, but it isn't that easy. I think that these ideologies are an expression of our most primitive sides, instead of just political views. Communism and Fascism are a nation's collective hate organised into political parties. That's why it's so hard to fight them. They will always come back in one or another form. Leaders like Stalin and Hitler knew how to exploit us. The terror was such as no one even thought of killing Mao. Hitler had an almost unreal luck when he survived his officers attempt. They were however a minority among the officers in the Wehrmacht, because Hitler was clever enough to have them swear to him personally, so an attack on him was an attack on Germany. The terror itself was enough to keep most people from attempting protests and uprisings and when it happened, it was cut down with extraordinary cruelty and sadism. That's the true nature of these ideologies and they are nurtured by the worst sides of man.
