Everybody's Bar Steward sadly JW's passing will not be mentioned by a mainstream media obsessed with false celebrity and treacherous lying devious politicians. Also don't forget the leftist snowflake brigade would in reality dearly love to see angling banned as cruel. Ask them to comment on the treatment of animals used to produce halal food however and they'll decline to comment. Anyhow, RIP Mr Wilson and thanks for the memories.

Only just getting back on the bank after 15 years off, and only just heard about John's passing. Very sad news. He was like the David Attenborough of the angling world. Irreplaceable. RIP

Been watching a lot of JW of late (for obvious reasons RIP John) And the amount of people criticising John and his tactics is quite laughable really not just on this video either .. I bet these are the same people that have wrote in the last week of how he changed their life ect ect. What people don’t understand is that fishing has come on so much since his early videos. John was a pioneer and set the foundations and he should be respected. if you don’t like it maybe go watch the Nash chavs, maybe they can sell you a bit more unnecessary equipment you don’t need for huge prices 🤷🏻♂️

Saint4life 1976 I still use the very same tactics , a lot of anglers are to caught out to easily thinking they need the latest and greatest rigs and tackle to catch fish . Have out fished many carp fisherman sat behind their £2k setup with £50 worth of bait on the hotspots just using 1 very old rod and reel and a loaf of bread .

I watched him stret pegging for carp in I think the river test. I then used that method on my local canal as it flows a fair speed in parts. Long story short I had my first tench that day. We miss you John🎣

Well said mate - fishing would not be on You Tube or tv without JW trailblazing and changing the perception of the sport for the wider population. A lot of these new companies and celebrity anglers would not exist today. John was about looking after the waterways, conservation, using tackle that would not harm wildlife. I like watching the new angling programs and if you ask them they will have grown up watching JW...

Great stuff. I remember this from back in the day - inspired my barbel fishing for years. Oh and 4lb hook link - rare to find anything under 10lb these days. Proper angling from a master. And lol @ someone trying to tell of an MBE holding angler who was an activist in helping spread the use of unhooking mats what he should and shouldn't have been doing in 1992 (before I imagine the person making the comment had even been born)..
