In screen printing when trying to do a gradient (also called a split fountain), instead of putting the colors next to each other, you have to overlap them before swiping. Put color 1 2/3 of the way from the top, and color 2 2/3 of the way from the bottom, next to color 1 (if that makes sense)

That actually turned out to look pretty awesome. I love how first layer of top coat blurs and smooths a gradient slightly, that's always my favorite part and stamping hides a multitude of sins which is great 👍🏼💗💙💚

Meh, think I'll stick to sponges for my gradients. This plate kinda seems like a solution in search of a problem. Plus with a sponge, less cleanup lol. I hate cleaning a stamping plate

Personal Opinion I thought so too! Haha It’s when you apply polish to a baggie or stamp mat and scratch the polish with a toothpick so it makes stripes. Nails by Jema did a vid I think. I’ve never been able to get it to work for me but I should try again!

I wanted to buy that plate just for that gradient maker, but in some other review of that plate someone commented that you could do the same thing by flipping over any stamping plate with a metal back and taping off a rectangular area. I've never tried it though, but I think you should. The final result turned out pretty!

You can also blend colours on stamping plates by placing them sequentially with a gap between instead of side by side. That way the scraper hits the first colour, spreads it through the gap and into the start of the second colour. You might get more blending that way. I’ve done that with stamp designs, though of course that’s not just a solid block of colour. I don’t have this plate and this video is the first I’ve heard of it so I haven’t tried it myself. I don’t know if it could, even with lots of practice, fully replicate the sponge method. This plate may always create a slightly different look for a gradient, but that could be a good thing.

Great video! This has probably already been said but I use mine by putting the middle colour on the image like you did, then putting the other two on the side but virtually touching so there's a lot of colour overlap. And I scrape about 4/5 times with a really flexible scraper. I also stamp the white base using this cos I'm lazy!

Bravesdivanails did an amazing review tutorial on this and really showed it's true potential I like using this image for laying base Polish. Stamp the same color 3 times like layer it up on the sane nail and u have a base Polish that's dry in no time.. Then use the image to make ur gradient and stamp it a couple times onto the sane nail like layer it up and it gives a great gradient look.

Is it because I need a better stamper or was the regular polish drying to quick to be picked up? I need help!!! 😂😢😂😢

Destiny Arnett I have a clear jelly wish stamper also it picks up perfect, it's my go to stamper. I didn't have to prime mine but some people say washing it with soap and water first helps, and try stamping polishes or sally Hansen Insta dry polishes.
@QueerElisabeth
6 жыл бұрын
Some polishes stamp better than others - and when you do stamping, so many things can affect the result; the polish, the stamper, the scraper, the pressure you're using etc. So keep trying and you'll find what works for you ! I have trouble with jelly stampers too. My trusted stamper is the white marshmellowy dual ended one from uberchic that isn't see through but stamps almost anything.

I've seen this work really well with lots of colors. I can see how fewer colors in your gradient may not blend as well. on the website, it says you can do like a 7 color gradient without issue. Jessiesnaildate on IG has used this a handful of times and has done some awesome full rainbow gradients. I think it's a specialized tool. Your trusty sponge will work better for fewer colors, but this will work better for 4+ colors.
