We just got back from a lake, where we were learning to stand up on our paddle board. It was so much fun! Thanks for sharing your video!

You're right about the paddle - the blade should slope away from you. Thanks for another great video!

Looked like you were going to pitch pole that dominator for a second... That would have made an exciting highlight. Good work to keep that badboy upright!

Without any doubt, the stand-up paddle board is the most inefficient water craft ever developed.

I'd have to agree, it was originally made for waves which i see the point of. For flat water it's inefficient but it is quite nice with very flat water and no wind just to get out there.

I would like to ask you a question. If we have 2 identical SUP boards .. same construction material .. same shape .. same width, lets say 75 cm with the same paddler but different length. One 3 meters and the other 4.5 mmeters. Which one will be the fastest? and the difference in speed will be significant or very minimal? Thank you very much

I'd think that the longer one would be faster due to the waterline length governing top speed on displacement watercraft.

I bet a double bladed kayak paddle would produce more speed. Where a SUP loses speed compared to a kayak is in the glide. You need to supplant your next 'catch' before the momentum of your craft loses speed.

That makes a lot of sense

I’ve used that board and they are like a tug boat, stable but slow as hell.

It makes sense to me that you would get more dig into the water with the angle of the paddle blade curving back, like a spoon, but they say the angle should face toward the front away from you.

Yes, quite counter intuitive.

I think you're supposed to convert a weed wacker to hold a prop and then attach it to the back end of that thing. 🤔

Maybe could eek out a couple extra mph if you take it on a down hill course.
