It took you seven minutes what a professor couldn't do in 2 hours... This is a very clear explanation of the idea, thanks!!!

Sounds like a professor really got a 49% F-(Failure), but passed with extra credit 60% D-(Below Average) and that professor probably is going to be a journeyman- meaning getting fired or resigning from every education employment it gets.

You're an amazing teacher! I came here because I am short on time and won't have time to finish reading the textbook before a deadline I have today. I'm fairly good at statistics and I was amazing at how simple you make the subject for just about anyone willing to learn.

Excellent! You teach straight forward and totally understandable, you sir have a great gift for teaching. Problem is most teachers forget to explain what these terms even mean leaving the student totally lost until practically the end of semester when one good explanation of what its for would have sufficed!

The SE is an estimate of the SD of the sampling distribution. That is, if you were to take heaps of samples from the population (and because they are samples and estimates of the population mean with some error, each sample mean would be slightly different), and took the SD of those sample means, that would be (close to) your SE. It is only an estimate though.

Nice explanation... I like the way that you have kept the video short and focused on the simplest way to achieve a calculated result. I guess it might be confusing for students when they go to Excel and find quite a list of SD functions to choose from? Also, I guess this movie references a legacy SD function from Office 2007... Wondered a bit too about dragging the formula across when the range for one set of data is only two cells and the other set of data is 10 cells?
@jordannewport6661

+Dr Michael Moroney Excel ignores blank spaces. Also, I have Excel 2013 (and I assume this holds true for other versions as well) and simple stdev with no letters after it is available, so there's no real reason to not use the simplest one.
