Here's a comparison of a note (somewhere around a B1 or Bb1) generated by standard singing and then with the subharmonic technique. I'm still only a few months into doing subharmonic bass, so I continually struggle to hit that perfect balance at the perfect moment, and I don't know if I'll ever have any significant control over the dynamics. Notes tend to end abruptly, but perhaps that can be improved over time.
As I've worked on this technique, I've noticed that my subharmonic range, like my regular bass range, tends to fluctuate, depending on the time of day, hydration levels, etc. A G1 tends to be easiest to hit, and fullest sounding, in the morning, but difficult to slip into, and more of a croak, by the end of the day, especially if I haven't been hydrating like a professional singer (1+ gallon of water, sipped consistently throughout the day).
