Thank you for this beautiful poem set to music..... Deeply touched.... Do we all have lost loves to whom we turn in memory when we hear this piece?

The only thing I regret is not being old enough to enjoy this music.

Such songs and poems as this are timeless. You might not have been there, but you can enjoy at any age. Cheers!

The older you get, the more astounded you'll become at the incomprehensible genius of this.

Rod & Glen. Always a perfect pairing of songwriter and interpreter. This, one of the most beautiful songs ever written. R.I.P. Rod McKuen.

Lost or "discarded"loves come into our minds and for a moment drift into reality before sinking back into a subconscious fog so sentimentality and oft' times, regret.

Me too. Love the whole thing. Went through at least three albums. And yes, "Done that, been there, and got the T-shirt." I don't run very much anymore. If you know what I mean? Stanyon Street. Yes, I was there and I remember... and yes, I'm still here. Holy Cow! Holy Now. @@!!! Holy Wow. I remember, God's Grace is still... here... upon us all.

True for every single one of us, brother...as I was typing, it occurred to me to add that I'm convinced we can all have it again---and not lose it.
