So I got the last parts of my Virpil setup last night, and just put them together and configured them just now. I had wanted to integrate the pedals into my SC control scheme, they would give me three new axis's" 1) pedals left and right 2) left brake 3) right brake I just want to say, they are sturdy as hell and well boxed. My box was damaged in transit, no issues to the device. And they are an absolute unit. All you need to do is screw the pedals you want onto the swing arms, plug in the cable and it's ready to be setup with the software. Stabilitywise, I have carpet in this room, but the pedals are heavy and on nice adjustable rubber feet. I think you'll have no issues with the pedals moving no matter what kind of floor you have. My reservations for using the pedals in Star Citizen; the stock spring and cam dont have a clear center, which is perfect for aircraft, but for SC I think I'd like a center to know when I'm there. Especially if I use it for roll, which was my first idea, with up and down on the brake pedals. I try to think of a use for an axis with no clear center and I can't think of how to use the pedals along with the rest of my Virpil setup. For the moment, I'm going to use the two Alphas and my throttle for Star Citizen. If I don't end up using the pedals, perhaps I'll buy one of the button boxes to fill out the SC 4 controller limit. I think you'd get more use out of a throttle than pedals if you were wanting to add more Virpil goodness. Or perhaps the two button boxes? To me, the throttle is a nice button box in Star Citizen, and I can use the two separate throttle leavers and flaps lever in my SC setup. The fact that the 6 center buttons are set up for 5 banks, making them 30 buttons is a big plus.

Dear BlackMaze, thank you for both movies regarding your setup and keybindings for dual Virpil HOSAS. There are so awesome that I watched them few times and couldn't resist and ordered my joystick pair. :) Instead of your half keyboard I ordered their control panel #1. And I also plan to use the VoiceAttack - did you try it? However I didn't notice in the movies that you switched your cams to CosmoSim "No center!". Would you be so kind to tell us a little more which cams you tested, why you selected CosmoSim (No-Center) and if there is a big difference between them? I understand that you switched those cams in both joysticks, correct? And if you could say a word about the yaw and roll axis. The default StarCitizen setting is X for yaw and rotation for roll. You have them opposite. There are some ytb movies explaining that in space sims it "should" be used as that for more control (X axis is "longer" - more precise). Your settings are more like for standard plane/helicopter sims. I would be grateful to hear your view on that. And if we talk about axis - have you considered joystick rotation for the vertical thrust control? As a beginner to HOSAS I could learn any configuration so looking for optimal start. And Yes, if you get rudder pedals it would be great to see your review! Virpil please take notice. BR /mb

I used to use CH Pro HOTAS and rudder pedals. The CH analog sensitivity is TM level or worse (8-bit) and works with nearly any game but made for larger hands. They are heavy duty but were not as comfortable for me. The Virpil stuff is the best and the most expensive but worth it. I couldn't get them at the time I was buying and they got rid of the Delta grip I wanted so I got the VKB high end Gunfighter III's with Kosmosima grips. The VKB GF3s are all metal magnetic sensor gimbals with same sensitivity as Virpil but single cam internals instead of dual cam for each axis as the cost tradeoff. I love mine so far. The VKBs are about ~100$USD less than Virpil depending on you local taxes and shipment costs.

Yes! Pedals plz @ Virpil help this fella out he makes slick videos that are helpful and entertaining! @BlackMaze really curious what you would map to the pedals. You currently have everything covered with the way your used to playing, but i'm thinking pedals could be either roll (most common use probably) or up/down thrust. If you did roll you could make your right stick left and right be up and down instead of roll, but this might be hard to adapt to, and you might occasionally go up and down as your simply trying to go forward or back. Been looking at your exact joysticks from Virpil for a while, but just enjoying waiting. When i first looked at virpil they did not have the sticks available that you use now, and i love the two xbox joysticks on the Constellation Alpha sticks, for me negates my need to use a keyboard (mostly - still need some shortcuts, like you have on your hand-keyboard). Thx! - Update bought the same joysticks/bases, would have used a referral code if you had one.

I went from HOTAS w/pedals to dual stick myself. It's the most accurate for flight sim value but can get a little more tiring to play sometimes if you can't get a comfortable angle and anchor the rolling/twisting of the chair and pedals. If things are loose you end up by reflex using your abs and lower back to stabilize the chair or pedals. If the seat is fixed and rudders bolted down like in a realistic flight sim pit its very comfortable. You'll have to try it for yourself though as its all personal taste and comfort. Virpil uses a cool mechanical design for the actuation of the pedals IMHO.

I'll have to rewatch this a few times. I have a bazillion buttons, switches, rotaries, etc, but am very new to SC. I spent my last two weeks unable to get by a major annoying thing where it sees both of my virpils as the same sometime, or if it's working, switches them. NO MORE. I now use vJoy hidhide and joystick gremlin. I have 13 controllers, winwing full mip and several throttles with the ability to have everything hooked up at the same time (rarely do, just when showing it off to a visitor). Red bird rudder pedals, virpil left and right alpha primes, but until last night I couldn't use anything without issues. The apps mentioned, I can now assign various axis, buttons, thrust levers from numerous controllers and have them all seen as one joystick. This video reminded me of a few binds I didn't do that I should, so thank you much. It's great to be able to lean over to throw a switch, or perform a button press on a different panel, but it's funny that with all I've noted that I need to add from you as well as all the ones I mapped last night, I have less than 50 binds, haha.
