This could be scientifically possible with a rouge gas giant. Escaping the velocity of its star(which is called a rouge planet) then smaller planets that are rouge. Like mercury Venus and and earth sized one. Orbiting said gas giant.

The depth of the lore in many of these systems is just incredible; it makes you want to set up home there. For now, we'll have to settle for Pyro, well, in a few months, but you get what I mean. I can't wait to set up my base of operations in some far-off system and really dive into the experience.

I really don't know why, but those narrated lore videos are awesome - they have something that makes them so special. Is it the voice? Like when you access information from the archives of an advanced galactic civilization. Am I the only one who feels this way? Keep it up - we need MORE lore with this voice!

Cig can produce some interesting ideas. On the other hand Cig hasn't had the greatest track record of bringing their visions intact to reality. But on the gripping hand, don't be worried, the odds of the average human living long enough to see Cig bring this to market are nearly zero. So disappointment shouldn't be a problem.

Depending on how big the gas giant is it would mimic the gravitational well of a star. At the very most the discovery of the starless system just lowered the gravity well threshold needed to generate a jump point. Scientific thought definitely would be reassessed, but not erased, on the subject.

If we're going to have actual dark systems I wonder if they will do something about the lights on ships. They should add landing/ground facing lights on every ship IMO, and the forward lights could be tweaked to extend further (I feel like you have to be very close to observe the light).

I could be wrong, my astronomy is rusty, but if it's a Starless system, wouldn't that make it extremely difficult to see anything? Even with artificial lights you would not be able to see very far...
