Yeh but arrogant leadership in this scene and what he’s known for, he’s not a people’s person Tony. Formulates a plan, but Cap directs it. Star-lord is a very good strategist himself, he has more experience catching big fish than Tony in the MCU. Their attempt was Peters plan, yet in the end he was the demise of it. It was a smart plan, a little misdirection, and once they were all in place, went for it, Drax taking the legs, Spider-Man and Lord wrapping him with tech, using Strange to drop Mantis on to Thanos head, it was a brilliant plan of teamwork and utilising all their skills at once

People don't realize how amazing the Flash Gordon line is. Stark is a grown man who sees the character as a campy childish caricature of a hero who dwells in space which is in a way what Star-Lord is but he doesn't mean it as a compliment. Quill on the other hand grew up with movies like that, didn't get a chance to watch them as an adult and say wow this is ridiculous. He just remembers Earths culture from the perspective of a child so it's all super cool. Flash Gordon was most likely a movie he remembers and more than likely loves to see himself that way. So for him to hear that is probably the coolest thing he's ever heard anyone say about him, when it's really an insult. One of the best most underrated comedic moments in the MCU.

I think most people overlook a detail about the “plan”. Tony’s plan isn’t a plan at all, just like his plan of attack in 2012. As frustrating as Quill and the rest of the Guardians are being, they are the ones who gave the plan details for execution by using Tony’s idea of pinning Thanos down. My point is that while Tony came up with what to do to Thanos, Quill is the one that came up with how to deal with Thanos.

When you realize that Dr. Strange didn't just "watch Endgame" over 14 million times, but, as per the battle with Dormamu, actually had to live through a time-loop in which he battled Thanos on Titan, experienced the Snap, fought in the battle of Earth, lost, then reversed time back to this spot and started over again. Assuming the movie-time is accurate, that's 1 hour, 13 minutes and 4 seconds per loop (from him starting to use the stone to Thanos getting dusted, minus the time between snaps.) 4384 seconds times 14 000 605 is almost 1945 years of Strange watching these idiots fail over and over again... "Oh, this time Mantis screwed it up... Ooh, that one hit an artery, bye Tony!... What's Cap doing with that axe... Where the heck is Captain Marvel?!... aand we're all dust again, rewind!" That's why he knew the exact number: he'd been having to answer that same question every trip so he'd be keeping a tally, and when he's looking at Tony, he literally just watched him snap his fingers in Endgame.

i dont think he lived those 14 million experiences. he most likely applied a ffwd effect on himself so he could view things quickly without losing real world time with thanos approaching. he then used the time stone to peer into possible futures. mcu timelines operate like branches so he’s witnessing different outcomes branching from his current position in time. he may actually be present (but intangible/incorporeal) to the timelines he’s viewing (hence his body actually moving as he’s following 14mill timelines and watching each one closely for clues to victories and probably jumping to the next when he or everyone dies, or else finding other points and working backwards if that’s possible for him) either way he’s not experiencing the full snap and recovery that many times. maybe a few times as he got closer to the 1 timeline where they do win, and he narrowed it down to tony and a rat

"Flash Gordon, by the way? That's a compliment." I love that. You just know Peter Quill was thinking of the 1980 film. Also, has anyone else noticed the number of Petes in Marvel? Peter Parker, Peter Quill, Pietro Maximoff, Piotr Rasputin...

That's why Strange chose to give the time stone to Thanos, because he needed Stark to be alive to build the time machine and the iron gauntlet.
