I always appreciate your reviews in comparison to TrekCulture's content. It's getting tedious with these Ups and Downs..."Hey, Burnham is in screen, that's an up! Hey, Stamets says a funny thing, that's an up!"

Nobody gonna mention that at no point did anyone climb a tower? They went up a slow slope, how'd they get to the top? Speaking to the hologram tech, I think the idea was that it was new tech that scanned the memories of the grieving to get the pertenant data for the hologram personality. This scavenger hunt, McGuffin plot nonsense feels like it's written by teenagers.

They could have cut everything out on the ship and this would have been a better episode. Add a bit more pace to the planetary scenes.

It felt like one of those lesser early DS9 episodes where they encountered some generic Gamma Quadrant aliens.

Didnt Burnham ask for a race? Thats how I got it. Yea but they should have followed up more on the prome directivf thingy. Even if it was Burnhams willingness to break it that give her the clue.

That's how I understood it. She asked to do the race, and that inspired all the other people to enter in as well.

The setup at the end is prob gonna annoy me if stupid stuff happens cos of it. Discovery has all but one of the map pieces and the clue to the final piece, why are to jumping to where Moll and L’ak are? I'm so worried it's only for the plot to allow the villains to steal the items and get ahead when there should be no way for them to catch up after losing their ship and resources when the Discovery crew are so far ahead now.

My first words were "it a trap!" Those two amigos probably use their injuries to get aboard the ship and then somehow neutralise the crew an took control of the vessel. Not that a escape pod from the 23rd century have been any trouble at all to track and retrieve.

@@hawkstringfellow if you can pass the requirements it doesn't matter what shape your body is. Plenty of round in the middle Bolians in Starfleet. Reminds me of when I ran before my appendix decided it was time to bail. I was 6 feet tall and 235lbs but I could run 5 miles in 40 minutes. With my full beard I looked way out of place but I could do it lol.

I really am loathing the sycophancy they are shoehorning in there towards religion, and it's telling that like DS9 the best they can come up with is a glorified cargo cult. However, I really enjoyed having something that felt like a good Star Trek episode, which we don't always get from Discovery, but was also waiting for the big Prime Directive discussion or paperwork that never happened.

About the race: Burnham and Tilly wanted to enter the mountain, then I think the one who also finished the race said oh you only have to win this race. - When is it? Oh any time we can do it... why not... tomorrow? Something along those lines. If it hadn't been for the Disco crew, it wouldn't have happened. Now how they got so many participants on short notice is another question, but... at least they addressed the issue.

At least they immediately knew the appropriate pronoun for the priest’s child. And great that they could rescue they in the end. Wouldn’t be great if they could not spare they an awful fate.

Watching it, I thought this episode could have been whole lot better episode. The whole ship base story could have easily be scrapped. The last scene of this episode should have been in the 5th tower, and they receive the clue and then message that this planet is a example of what happens when the technology is missed use, they tried using it to save these people but they cause the planet to deteriorate, the weather towers was their fix. Then Tilly tells them it time, they beam up, an they reactivate the towers. Perhaps with a message the Tower will now survive 5,000 years or something.

Thanks for the review. So it seems like a filler episode. I gotta agree with Sam about Hugh's storyline. So with what they've been saying about this episode I'm gonna skip it. I agree with Stuart that it's possible either Paul or Hugh or both maybe sacrificed in the end. I really am liking Rayner a lot more. I think being a "number one" is teaching him how to work with your crew properly once more. He's definitely the "No bullshit" type of person for sure. Yeah Tal's a bit of a waste too. I agree with Sam...with what we saw from both Jadzia and even Ezri they're not bothering to evolve Tal properly like with previous Trill's we've seen. I didn't like Ezri at first but as Season 7 progressed I did start liking her more. I liked how she herself evolved especially having 8 life times worth of experiences from other hosts. She was a wreck at first but later over came it.
