pretty sure the Federation paid reparations to the Lysians for their lost ship and crew. On the upside for the Lysians the Satarrans had upset Starfleet who undoubtedly informed the other interstellar powers so that this couldn't happen again. Starfleet probably also looked at developing defences against the Satarran mind wipe and against however McDuff masked his alien physiology.

A "sliding scale" may be at play here. Some civilizations may have progressed further in other areas (medical, cybernetical) while some (physics, energy etc), lag behind ours. Its impossible to determine for us in real life, as they are no other civilizations. If those civilizations had a similar "Supply Demand Position", regardless of "PPC shift", it still would be impossible to determine as the ratios are the same only scaled.

Because these are not air-sea battles like in the Pacific. And this video shows exactly Why. Large ships can move just as fast to even faster (and on a starfighter where you put the drive, the availability of crystals is limited). Of course, fighters exist (Hydrian Kingdom anyone?), but they have an auxiliary function and must be supported by a ship. Otherwise there will be a massacre like this. An effective attack can be carried out when there are many, very many of them. Something like 'beyound'.
@Z1gguratVert1go
Жыл бұрын
@@mariuszmiroslaw2290 I think the main role of starfighters in Star Trek would be almost anywhere except long-distance travel and big space battles - that's for capital ships. They're more than a match for anything runabout sized and smaller, like shuttles, and potentially bigger ships that aren't dedicated military vessels as well (their micro photon torpedoes are still matter-antimatter warheads even if they are small) so they'd be great for preventing smuggling into or out of a star system where a full-sized starship can only be in one place at one time despite being 1000 times more powerful. Deploying a dozen Peregrines could patrol a troubled star system pretty well, rotating 6 out patrolling and 6 in for refueling and service at any given time. A peregrine could outrun most capital ships at impulse and zero of them at warp.

@@Z1gguratVert1go Totally agree, but Star Trek is about long journeys and occasional clashes. That Sutteran memory erasure weapon would have been a great retrofit for Starfleet long range exploration vessels, in order to disorientate unknown hostiles so that conflicts _can be prevented._ Voyager could render enemies helpless and then offer to help while snooping through their data banks... which would not have a entry about "attack Federation ships."
