The pulled back shot of the trade federation goons looking at a TV happened so you can tell its a screen. In the original it looks a lot like they are looking down a hallway with a force-field. The extra perspective and the scan lines becoming horizontal instead of circular makes it clear that they are looking at a screen.

More changes to Attack of the Clones: In Jengo's last scene, a spark and puff of smoke were added to show he tried to fly away, but being trampled broke his rocket pack. After being decapitated, Jengo's helmet goes rolling on the ground. A shadow was added to the right implying his head went rolling off the screen. Neither of these were in the theatrical release.

I'll say this when it comes to CGI Yoda in The Phantom Menace: it's easily the best looking version out of all the Prequels. Since they already used a puppet, the animators already knew where the light was going to fall. There's less of a disconnect that usually comes with totally CGI characters.

No brain that is a key scene. First off you don't have to like it. But it is an accurate portrayal off how a kid ( he is 15 ) who has psychological problems acts like in top of the fact he also had a shelter life which kind of makes him naive and some what spoiled. Just search KZitem videos of spoiled kids acting up they don't act any different. Anyways it also sets him up to the beginning stage to the path of a killer. Most killers kill animals as their first step and as he says that's what the Tuskan raiders where to him animals. The scene has deep undertones that people don't get. I prefer that over a 29 year old emo acting up for no reason at all. Followed by a comedic scene that reminds me of spaceballs...

The easy answer is that George Lucas is a moron. That's not really true - he's actually quite intelligent. The better answer is because an artist is never truly satisfied with his work. That's what George is doing, he's playing with things to show more ideas that he's come up with, or regretted not doing, or what have you. Is it right? I don't know. They are his movies so to a point yeah, but I also agree that it's a disservice to the fans and what they have come to enjoy. There are plenty of movies that have directors cuts produced later that make the movie much better, much more interesting, more insightful. I don't think any of these changes have done that, but the point is -we like it in some, but not in others.
@davidv4018
5 жыл бұрын
He can do what he want if the work is entirelly his. But even if you write, direct, produce and edit the movie; there shall be still plenty of artists working with you in the product. So, i don't think he can change their work. And he only wrote and direct the prequels, no the OT: even episode iv was done with an immense ammount of help of other people, like the editing team (which saved the movie). Lucas is a genious, but there is no excuse to change a piece of work, and not allowing people to have the original stuff (in any legal way)

Star wars changes part 9 of 9. In Revenge of the Sith the super battle droids voices were lowered to keep continuity to the clone wars TV series. In the clone wars TV series Anakin's lightsaber blade is yellow for fan's nostalgia for the Kenner Luke Skywalker figure from the 1970s because Anakin's lightsaber was handed down to Luke in "A new hope."

With the original Trilogy we want them all to be restored to the original form. For the prequils, we keep making fan edits in an effort to make them watchable.

Obi-wan, jango fett was way better than that "boba fett", jango at least killed smeone without jumping into a sarlacc, palpatine, pleagious, locations, starships, The Clone Wars.

super jedi player they could have made something original than just remake an already existent character (boba to jango). Don't see how something like this is way better. I don't see how Plaugueis was a good part of the prequels when he was barely mentioned. It's like saying the clone wars was awesome in the OT just because it was mentioned in one scene. Big chunks of Palpatines plan never made sense. That was something the prequel novels cleaned up and made much better.

Polemic Irrational i consider the store of pleagous quite interesting. also, while jango is a copy of boba, he's way better.

+HelloGreedo I think Yoda was changed because the puppet used in The Phantom Menace looked nothing like the Yoda puppet used ESB and TRJ. This was actually criticized when TFM came out. George Lucas changed this when using a CGI Yoda on the other 2 prequels.

In the fight between Obi-Wan and Anakin in Epidode 3 were a new 4 Seconds scene edit to the 2011 Blu-ray Version, also the Lightsaber colour of the prequels were brighter and more colourful also the clone babys in the glasses in Episode 2 were white and then changed to blue.I mentioned all changes for the first time i saw the Blu-ray lol

There's a few other changes in AOTC that are listed online, due to the different theatrical versions. The theatrical version of Phantom Menace is available on the VHS or the laserdisc only released in Japan. And some of the Podrace sequences were on a bonus tech demo dvd in their original form. So there is more footage available out there of the previous versions.

So far there's only 1,088 views. Looks like I'm early. So does that mean I get to chill with HelloGreedo?
From what I understand, Darth Vader's "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" in Revenge of the Sith was longer in the theatrical version, than on the DVD right?

After watching all 8 videos of this series i have done some thinking and finally come to a decision of which changes id make and which ones id avoid. Youll agree with most but some i warn you are personal opinons of mine. The decisions are as follows: Changes id make: Changing the title "Star Wars" to "A new hope" Obi Wan’s home Digital tie fighters Stormtrooper shouting ''Close the blast doors'' Wampa cave attack Cloud city windows Digital hatch on millenium falcon Oola in rancor pit Blinking Ewok Hoth brightness and crispyness View of Mos Eisley cantina Obi Wan’s lightsaber when fighting Vader in ANH Stormtrooper hitting head sound effect Jabba’s palace door Wampa puppeteer’s arm R2’s blue colours when in space Han’s shirt before going into carbonite Cloud city extras The galaxy celebrating the fall of the empire at the end of ROTJ Rebel extras in ANH Biggs Darklighter introduction in ANH Death star hallway Extra detail of sand crawler Millenium falcon taking off from Mos Eisley Boba’s ship following milleniun falcon Qui Gon and Obi Wan force speed Shmi Skywalker’s screams Dirty mossy buildings and weapons on Kashyyyk Mustafar screen cut Orn Free Taa’s helpers Extended pod racing scene Brightness, colour, desaturation etc (prequels) Changes i'd avoid: R2’s extra gadgets spurting out after being shot Extra rock in front of R2D2 (XD) Obi Wan’s scream Star destroyer writing Jabba in the hangar Max Rebo band Trash compactor Dianoga’s eye Greedo shooting first Lando saying attention twice Luke’s lightsaber colour Dug in Jabba’s throne room Boba Fett’s voice change Mos Eisley extras Cantina alien replacements Death star officer getting blasted by Han on death star Empire probe droid on Hoth Vader shouting NO in ROTJ Vader’s eyebrows in ROTJ Emperor hologram in ESB Luke’s scream in ESB Han saying "it's alright I can see alot better" Hayden Christensen’s ghost Ewok celebration song Luke’s line ''You were lucky to get out of there'' Sarlacc tentacles and tongue Extra stormtroopers after Han chases stormtroopers down the hallway CGI Yoda in TPM Rune and Nute's Wide shot video hologram Obi Wan and Anakin shocked Reactions and Dooku escape scenes swapped around Clonetroopers shouting in ROTS All of the Attack of the clones cut out scenes from IMAX version Sebulba saying Skywalker

The whole introduction of the pod racers was added to the DVD of phantom menace. The whole pod race sequence is probably about five minutes shorter in the theatrical and VHS releases. Sorry to sound like a geeky know-it-all.

Woaaah, Im good. The reason I watched it was because I rewatched prequels 2 days ago and I noticed Shmi and Clones overdubs. It was noticible, I was like "what? No fucking way, why would they altered prequels ?" Also I strongly believe at some point in 1998 Lucas came to the office and called one of his artist saying "Listen, we've gotta make Yoda far shittier... Yes, exactly... You will see. All of you will fucking see"

Personally, the only changes I agree with think I are need are CGI Yoda, the messy wookie hut, theextra clone voices and Shimi screaming in Anakin's dream. The only extra changes I would make are fixing and cleaning up movie mistakes.

They also changed Padme's ridiculous recovery dialogue after falling out of the drop ship onto a sand dune in AOTC - it was slightly less ridiculous on DVD - no idea about bluray, as I've not watched the prequels in the last 10 years.

I know it's been over three years since this video, but the theatrical version of The Phantom Menace exists on home video: it's the VHS version and Japanese import LaserDisc.

More like Japan is the only country that got The Phantom Menace on LaserDisc, which used the theatrical cut (like the VHS). It was a popular special import for collectors before the DVD came out.

The episode 2 changes bothered me so much. And I guess I do have a sharp eye, But I've seen the movie a lot of times. In fact, I've seen episode 1 so much that I've even noticed the removal of R2 D2s beeps in certain scenes. It drives me crazy!!
