Paizo recently posted an article about some gods that are joining the Core Starfinder Pantheon. But WHO are the gods of the Core Patheon of Starfinder anyway? Could be a fun idea for a future video in this series.

The article I saw just said "See the Starfinder Playtest book when it comes out for some new deities," but I might look into doing a video like that when the book comes out.

Thank you for the breakdown on the SF Society. I'd never given them much thought, but it might be fun to work them into a campaign. Perhaps as a competing interest against players that aren't "bad guys" which the players can't treat as fodder. So far I like what I see regarding SF 2nd edition.

I'm preparing for a play test for some friends. There's a lot of great content on KZitem for starfinder but I think your lore videos have been my favorite.

Love seeing you talk about Society play, albeit briefly. I do wish the organized play system online wasn't so confusing, with dead links and massive pages of docs to go through. I hope it will all look neater once Starfinder 2e comes out.

Yeah, Paizo's been trying to hire a web developer to get that all worked out for a while. Wonder why no one has taken them up on it.

@@PsiPrimeProductions1 Even as a user I can see the page is layers upon layers of technical debt. The only way anyone will take that, is if they are allowed: 1. Burn it all down 2. Redo it properly from scratch 3. Had asurance that keeping data is optional. A "nice to have".

@@christopherg2347 Yeah, it would require a pretty good team to untangle it. Still, one would think Paizo would like to get on that.

@@PsiPrimeProductions1 I would not even try to untangle anything. Start from scratch. Maybe keep the bulk of data. Anything else is just going to add tons of work and thus costs.

A wonderful series, and a great plug for the society and some good rules for not being a jerk to other players.

I just played an SFS (Starfinder Society) game yesterday...right around the time this video was released. I've REALLY enjoyed SFS and PFS, as ways to get more practice playing both systems. I've also played in a few different cities in a couple of different states when travelling, and I may add a third state to that list in September. Great video!

Positive comment about the video so may the algorithm be with you! Possible video idea for the future: based on your starfinder experiences, is there a basic mood/theme difference between pf and sf? What do I mean by this: I have some experience with some official AP-s and moduls for Pathfinder sometimes as a player sometimes as a GM (Age of Ashes, Extinction's curse, Agents of Edgewatch, Strength of Thousands, Blood Lords, Quest for the Frozen flame, Fist of the Ruby Phoenix, Kingmaker, Fall of Plaguestone, Malevolence, Emmity Cycle, Crown of the Kobold king, Slithering) and while they are open to touch darker themes time-to-time, but overall there is usualy a story of hope and heroism, that rarely turn the characters grizzeled cynical alchoholists... (Except maybe Agents of Edgewatch, that story always creeps me out with it's dark gore-porn-fest scenes.) Do the usual Starfinder stories have a bit more darker tone, or are they essentialy the same? You know the classic sci-fi oppressed by force and propaganda style, or more leaning toward themes of racism and classism, darker themes of mental health issues, everyday drug abuse, nihilism, etc. The use' scifi themes! :)

Paizo seems to want to inspire unity in their works, so they don't often highlight things like racism and drugs. I mean, that stuff exists, and are certainly worth discussing, but I think Pathfinder and Starfinder want to kinda . . . lead by example. Show what we COULD be, y'know? They do occasionally have sad stories about issues in the past. There's one Starfinder 1 Scenario about how a planet became paranoid after the gap and committed nuclear war. In the end, only one city survived, and they were forced to exile a bunch of civilians because their city couldn't support the whole population. But they lied to the civilians and said that it was the will of a deity that they left to seek enlightenment . . . pretty dark stuff. But mostly it's not so sad. I mean, other than the Azlanti I guess. That is the WORST government, and they are racist as all get out.

@@PsiPrimeProductions1I appreciate that they left a good standin for the empire if you want to run something like a star wars campaign. Or hells rebels and cheliax. Gotta have some bad guys to rebel against somewhere so you can run rebellion stories.
