“Orion is a prominent constellation located on the celestial equator and visible throughout the world. It is one of the most conspicuous[1] and recognizable constellations in the night sky.[2] It is named after Orion, a hunter in Greek mythology. Its brightest stars are the blue-white Rigel (Beta Orionis) and the red Betelgeuse (Alpha Orionis).” - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orion_(constellation)

Agreed...I wish it had had at least one movie like SG-1 had. I don't like how, due to the show being cancelled as suddenly as it was, that they had to pull the wormhole drive out of their posterior to end on. Supposedly it had been planned anyway and there was going to be an arc leading up to it, but there wasn't time.

@@RagitsuI may not like the way he said it, but he is not wrong. Just watch Picard and what they did to Seven. If u saw it, then u know what i mean. This is why i like the movies and shows from the 1990s and early 2000s. Right now, most movies are so afraid of PCsness, that they force it whether it fits into story or not. If SG shows were filmed today, Teyla would be a lesbian Wonder Woman, Mckay would be a woman, Shephard would be a comical sidekick to Teyla and Ronnon would cry every other episode. And i don't even want to know what they would do to OG SG-1. Don S. Davis would spin in his grave like a fan.

I'm no expert on _Stargate: Universe_ lore, but isn't _Destiny_ essentially a "once in a generation" (which means something else entirely for the Ancients) megaproject instead of a mass produced model of starship à la the _Aurora_ class battle-cruisers?
@jasonharrison25

Don't forget that this ships power was nearly depleted. It wasn't that the shields wouldn't be able to handle the magma, but more that the power supply was not going to last much longer. If they had a fully charged ZPM that these ships normally have then it would be no problem for the ship

@@jasonharrison25 This. Even without ZPMs, this ship had lots of neglect and also battle-damage, IIRC. @@Ragitsu but they have no velocity relative to the planet spin (assuming hyperspace travel doesn't give you velocity in normal space, more like teleportation), it would be like launching a rocket from earch straight up and never doing a roll, not gaining velocity parallel to the planet surface means even the tinest amount of gravity would start pulling the ship back toward the planet, it's a decaying orbit... maybe they got it fixed before this became a problem tho
