Philippine telecom companies have room for improvement in their digital services. While other countries are moving towards 6G, the Philippines is still working on improving its digital competitiveness. What makes Starlink so amazing is how SpaceX managed to build it from pre-existing satellite frequencies. Satellite frequencies are not heavily regulated in most countries that do not have space program. So in reality the technology is not that expensive what makes a regular satellite expensive is the logistics which SpaceX has an advantage in the economy of scale.

There are several Globe and Smart towers that have been upgraded their systems to provide 5G connection by utilizing their existing 4G frequency. As per estimates, there are 10,000+ towers that were upgraded to 5G - and this keeps growing. Testing the reliability of the network won't give us better results using mobile devices due to different factors. For example only the top-of-the -line phones are capable to aggregate bands (carrier aggregation). Having CA on a mobile phone really improve our overall download experience. I would say that Phil is already on the digital age and been competing with other 1st world country in terms of mobile technology adoption. Smart/Globe are partnering with Nokia, Siemens and other tech giants to materialize, achieve, and provide stable and realiable connection even in far-flung areas.

I think every barangay in the far flung provinces should invest in that in case there's a storm you can contact outside when there is no cell signal available. Starlink and a generator to update the outside towns. Nice review my friend.

ANOTHER OPTION IS NEVER BOLT IT DOWN TO THE ROOF INSTEAD MOVE IN MORE CENTER OF THE ROOF N BRING 4 HOLLOW BLOCKS OR 8 HOLLOW BLOCK CHAIN IT UP AROUND THE FOUR LEG OF THE SATELLITE DISH SO WHEN THERE IS A TYPHOON YOU NEED TO BRING THAT SATELLITE DISH INSIDE THE HOUSE --- U DO NOT WANT TO LEAVE THAT DISH UP THERE N HOPING IT WILL NOT BE DAMAGE AFTER THE TYPHOON PASS BY... I have waited for 5 years to get a fiber connection here in our province and we have been enjoying this connection for more than 5 years now until a typhoon came and cut-off all our power. My monthly fee for an average speed of 150 mbps download and a 200 plus upload is only 1800 pesos. I guess I should start saving up for an off grid power source and if PLDT forces me to pay more than what I'm paying, I'll consider Starlink. But it is not typhoon #5 category tested so I'll wait. Overall, nice you showed how to make it work. So simple. Good job.

What helpful vlog. Basically all i need to know is here. 30,500 for all hardware, 2700 monthly subscription for 100~200 mbps. Question though can you increase the speed lets say for a higher monthly subscription fee?

I ordered mine on July 26, it arrived August 1 at 19:50 from a supply chain warehouse in Parañaque City. Awesome timing as my Smart/PLDT was due to expire at 20:15 😂. Put the antenna outside on the ground north south direction and was up and running by 21:00. I didn't do the sky survey procedure as I already studied the satellite paths on a tracking website.

You must be able to take it out of your roof before the storm. Remember, the design of that antenna is like an umbrella and if I know it right the wind in the philippines during storm is unforgiving. Your antenna looks like it’s not aerodynamic enough to take the pwerful winds.

I would advise you to use UPS for your router and starlink disk. Additional protction for those units.

9:54 Hold on, you do not need to buy the ethernet adapter. You can, with the correct router, setup a Wi-Fi extender. I have a HIKvision WR12C which has a WISP operation mode. Very easy to setup and we have 10 devices connected to the WR12C. The WR12C let's me setup restricted access, parental control and guest network.

I am in Mandaue city cebu island. I have globe at home fiber and I am switching to starlink. Globe fiber is great-- when it is working. For 1000 pesos more I get reliable fast unmetered satellite internet. Starlink is half price in the Philippines compared to what they charge in America. $47.70 is a good value for Starlink

I think you don't need to buy the cable from them to extend the internet, you can buy a wifi extender would recommend tplink brand with 5ghz speed and set as wifi extender or range connect it to starlink then done you have extended network, you can direct Lan cables if you want to connect via LAN ports.
