Very interesting video! They just launched Starlink Maritime that covers all the oceans as well. Amazing time for travel vlogs. I also look forward to remote communities and islands getting this service so we can see their vlogs as well. Uploading videos or livestreaming from the middle of nowhere will be an epic thing.

I think it’ll change the game for travelers to be sure! There’s also a new RV dish that mounts permanently flat and can be used even while moving. It’s a little pricy at $2500, but definitely on a lot of van lifer’s wish lists!

An external plug socket would be nice instead of running the cord through a window

That's in the future plans! For now though, the less holes we punch in the roof the better!

Wonder what the jackery inverter effeciency is like? Wonder how you would go converting the starlink to run off DC bypasing the inverter and running off the 12V output. Others that have converter starlink to DC are using about 35watts = 840Watt hours (24hr use)

Not sure about the Jackery inverter but we’re using Renogy’s 2000W and don’t seem to lose too much power (granted we have 600Ah and 400W solar) and I’ve seen a few others successfully convert to DC but I’m going to wait to try that until we are about ready to upgrade to the Flat Starlink Dish on the off chance I break it and we’re cut off from work…

I believe it will work in Holland with the Global Roam option which is a little pricier but allows for worldwide connectivity! I’d recommend checking the Starlink Website though!

Cost to purchase & recurring monthly cost?
@cultivatingfiretravel

Yeah, it’s a 1 time hardware purchase cost of $600 for the equipment and $135 a month for unlimited data worldwide. I mean there is a new fancy version for RV’s that doesn’t have to be stowed and works while moving, but it’s in the neighborhood of $2500 for the equipment.
