I'm glad you mentioned BBC SO Discovery and especially Musio. These are the best option right now for beginners and generally for those who don't exactly make money from their music.

Yes. BBC SO is a fabulous educational tool. And Musio means access to an extensive reall high quality sound library for a very affordable price.

I like your "Jingle", by the way. And your little exercise made Discover sound quite good! Pleased to see that Musio has listened to people, and is now catering to those of us who object to Subscriptions.

Thank you Craig. But it's not _me_ making Discover sound good. Dicover _does_ sound quite astounding for a free tool!

Could you please continue this series? I've tried over 3 or 4 complete online courses on virtual orchestration but everything is too complicated. Yours is amazing, I would love to see more. I've all notifications turned on for your channel. Thank you so much.

I learned some classical guitar and did grades, took music in school, wrote songs for my bands and my own projects for many years and have dabbled in orchestral programming but never taken it seriously. Now I have a new setup with all the right gear and sounds and Im ready to give it a good go. Not sure why other than for my own satisfaction at this point. Thanks for your video, I enjoyed it.

Glad you enjoyed it! In my experience there are people who are just made to make music. And no matter what, they will always make music. So, if it is not for "your own satisfaction", maybe it is just in your nature.

This video was an excellent example of preparing strings for orchestration. (Is that also called “divisi”?) Thanks for the tutorial! Gianni❤

Divisi is when you divide a section. Like if it's 14 1st violins, 12 2nd violins, 10 violas, 8 cellos and 6 basses. Divisi is to divide a section. let's say the 14 first into two or something like that, and have them play different lines. Like 7 playing a line and 7 playing something else. I'm a beginner so that's the simplest explanation I can provide. Hopefully someone who knows more will provide a better answer but if not my answer isn't wrong but also isn't the best. Try googling it or something like that. With the new beta features of Google it hopefully provides better answers than quora.

That's a perfect explanation. Divisi means splitting a section, e.g., the celli, in two halfs and have both halfs play different lines.

I like the approach of starting from an ensemble patch and extracting the individual string parts from that. For string writing it gives you a better visual for weaving and inserting rhythmic breaks to the non melody lines. I usually have just used piano, but this just looks more coherent visually. Thanks!

Glad it's useful to you. There is so much more one can talk about and consider when it comes to voicing. But, I wanted to keep this as simple as possible. For a beginner just the act of creating _some_ proper voicing is challenging and satisfying.
