The only change that needs to be made to end the growth in anti-vax movement is to make the pharmaceutical companies liable for injury from their products, just like any other company, by reversing the 1986 Act. This alone, naturally fuels distrust in the government. I sell commercial insurance and this one never made since to me. Since we accept that vaccines rarely cause injury, why would we remove product liability from the manufacturer, not for all products, but for this one product line??

Go back a century or two before modern allopathic medicine and vaccines and you see where parents had 10 kids because several of them would die before reaching adulthood with the rest barely surviving past middle age owing to infectious diseases. Mind you these people worked their tails off - having no modern conveniences - making them highly "active" in their lifestyle while they ate 100% "organic" foods................and still they died. @blub blub that would be pseudo research on your behalf. Because... "CDC Fails to Produce Studies Which Support its Claim that Vaccines Given During the First Six Months of Life “Do Not Cause Autism” AUSTIN, TX (March 5, 2020) -- In a federal lawsuit filed by the non-profit Informed Consent Action Network (ICAN), the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has failed to produce scientific studies that back up its long-declared assertion that vaccines given to babies in the first six months of life do not cause autism. The CDC claims on its website that “Vaccines Do Not Cause Autism.”1 Despite this claim, studies have found between 40% and 70% of parents with an autistic child continue to blame vaccines for their child’s autism, typically pointing to vaccines given during the first six months of life.2 Vaccines given during the first six months of life, according to the CDC’s childhood vaccine schedule, include three doses each of DTaP, HepB, Hib, PCV13 and IPV, for a total of fifteen doses in these six months.3 In the summer of 2019, ICAN submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the CDC for “All studies relied upon by CDC to claim that the DTaP vaccine does not cause autism.”4 ICAN also submitted this same request for HepB, Hib, PCV13 and IPV vaccines, and additionally requested that the CDC provide studies to support its claim that the cumulative exposure to these vaccines during the first six months of life do not cause autism.5 Despite months of demands, the CDC failed to produce a single study in response to these FOIA requests.6 ICAN was therefore forced to sue the CDC in federal court, where the CDC finally entered into a stipulation, signed by a federal court judge, that made clear it cannot scientifically support its claim that these vaccines do not cause autism.7 In the stipulation, the CDC was only able to identify 20 studies: > One relating to MMR (a vaccine ICAN did not challenge); "

@blub blub How wrong you are! We have all the scientific evidence. Pro-vaxxers have none. There are so many doctors and scientists who know that vaccines do not work and cause harm, such as Dr. Robert Mendelsohn who changed his mind after 30 years of giving them. Dr. Richard Moskowitz, with 50 years of experience wrote Vaccines: A Reappraisal. Dr. Molden took before and after pictures of children's brains and eyes, showing the damage caused by the MMR shot. He was murdered. Proving vaccine damage is bad for business in the vaccine industry which is all it is - a multi-billion dollar one!. If they were safe, manufacturers would not refuse to be held liable for damages. Historically, vaccines have always come out AFTER a disease has already declined and flattened. There has never been a vaccine that has proven to be safe. Every vaccine contains aluminum in an amount that far exceeds the allowable limit set by the FDA. Have the courage to watch the new Truth About Vaccines hosted by Ty and Charlene Bolinger, especially episode 2 where the amounts of aluminum for various vaccines are discussed. The worst is in the Hep vaccine given to newborns. You can never make America smart again if you keep on pumping aluminum into people. Check the website Vaccine Choice Canada. My daughter had seizures after her DPT shots 35 years ago and that's when I began my research, digging deep and finding out the truth. I would love to face-off with Laurie. She wouldn't stand a chance against me and what I know about vaccines. Unvaccinated children are so much healthier than children whose immune systems are being destroyed by the most putrid ingredients contained in vaccines. Read an insert and try to justify how any of the ingredients could possibly enhance your health.

Because in my country, I think we had them about three times, as I can recall. Yes, stating a list of chemicals in order to imply that they are detrimental to humans without specifying the dosage is fear mongering, as even dihidrogen-monoxide can poison you at a certain dosage. Therefore, ‘the dose makes the toxin’ is toxicology 101. I'm currently doing a paper on terrorist chemical warfare for my master degree studies and I am obliged to specify which dosage does what to humans, since it can vary from no serious effects to lethality, which is vastly different. I realize he mentioned binding agents and rest assured I will look into it. Also, elaborate 'repeated dosage', please, I was never asked to retake a vaccine. I don't know what you mean by it. I will also add that we are not required to take 70 vaccines to live on this natural planet, but they help us prolong our lives and prevent certain diseases (unless they are made improperly or if you are immuno-compromised, but those are whole new topics). People have always lived on this natural planet, but why do we have the biggest population and a longer life expectancy nowadays, especially if the goddamn BiG pHaRmA is always trying to kill us?

Interest, these people are so misinformed. Case in point: the German government has a specialized court system. One german court system has legal control of science and all legal aspects to it. The Supreme court of german science canvases the peer reviewed science and medical literature and FOUND NO DIRECT PROOF THAT THE DISEASE CALLED MEASLES WAS CAUSED BY A VIRUS. This ruling was made in 2016 in a case involving the world acclaimed virologist Dr. STEFAN LANKA. When you research this be careful with the wording: the court did not judge that virus did NOT CAUSE MEASLES, BUT THERE WAS NO LITERATURE PRESENTING PROOF THAT A VIRUS CAUSED MEASLES. note: current research involve the theories suggesting the that exomes, which like viruses, are bits of RNA or DNA the need bacterial or a higher form of genetic machinery to reproduce. The real problem with vaccine is they are now designed to change the patient's DNA (this has resulted in the sterilization of the vaccinated) and the metals (aluminum, mercury, etc) that then react to EMF.

Divya♡, I really don't know how you figure that... If vaccines are shown to spread through the vaccination process itself, what's the point? On top of that, throw in dangerous preservatives. You have cocktail that will do more harm than good. Do you know what aluminum adjuvants are? They hyper stimulate the immune system to become more sensitive to the vaccine. Adjuvants indiscriminately hyper stimulate the immune system for a systemic response. This is the reason why children break out in fevers after receiving a vaccine. This can also lead to autoimmune disorders. I've now given you three good reasons why not to get vaccinated... Would you still continue to get them or give them to your loved ones?
@Divya7434

Mr RayPhotO Omg no one saying vaccines are safe, but they are sure as heck safer than catching a diasease, possibly dying or spreading to someone else who dies from it. Ur injecting the mock virus in ur body so ur body can learn to be immune to it and of course some people can still get the disease and that’s unfortunate for you but for the most case it doesn’t. The side effects DO NOT weigh out the actual disease itself. I’ve seen babies who can’t get the vaccine suffering of measles because other kids were not vaccinated putting them at more risk. The encephalitis or secondary infections can certainly cause hearing loss but I wouldn’t say a majority will suffer from that. Rates of hearing loss from measles is quite low in the post vaccination era. Pre vaccine though something like 5-10% of serious hearing loss was due to measles. I would of focused more on the issue of the primary and secondary infections that can lead to pneumonia and a host of other issues.

As an epidemiologist, vaccinologist, and big fan of Neil and Startalk, I was so excited about this episode. But I got more and more frustrated with the responses from the guest on this episode. She knows some facts about vaccines, but is clearly not an expert on vaccines or infectious diseases in general. - Her comment about the reproductive number (R0) is completely wrong. If measles has an R0 of 3 (FYI it is higher), this does not mean that everyone in that office would be infected because there are only two other people. It means that on average, during the entire duration of infectiousness, a typical person (someone that does not have an excessively high or low amount of social contacts) will infect a total of 3 other people on average. - She states that children that grow up in extremely clean enviroments will get asthma. This is the so-called hygiene hypothesis but there is at most conflicting evidence to support it. She however presents it as if it were a well-supported fact. - She states that the only deaths caused by vaccines are because of malpractice in vaccine development. This is straight out wrong and an extremely dangerous statement as it may just fuel the suspicion of any vaccine sceptic out there. Of course it is true that the number of deaths caused by vaccines is extremely low, and the number of lives saved by vaccines infinitely larger. But for some vaccines, an extremely rare adverse event may lead to death. Take the increased risk of intussusception for the rotavirus vaccine, for instance. Please invite an expert on the subject next time, i.e. a practicing researcher, not a journalist who hasn't updated her knowledge since the early 90s.

My BIGGEST concern is Freedom and the precedent of government overreach related medical mandates set; this is leading us further down a path of which no one will enjoy the destination of giving governments (who we all know are working for lobbyists NOT the people) such control -- putting "the state" so far above "the individual." We all know Pharmaceutical corporations have a long track record of unethical practices including being convicted of federal offenses and paying out huge settlements for harming many people (the list is long and includes vioxx, opiate crisis, hiding data, manipulating data, fraud, bribery etc); and, does anyone trust government agencies and politicians? I don't think so. So why would any of us suddenly trust the very institutions and people that have already lied so many times before -- politicians, government agencies, and corporations -- with the info about these products? More importantly, given their long established terrible track record, why would we give government and corporations the power to mandate medical choices upon us or our children? Nonetheless, regarding safety, I side with science. We all know websites can say anything (I read snopes was busted for false info recently and "fact-checkers" are bias in favor of their sponsor's agenda; after all, who will fact-check the "fact-checkers" etc?); therefore, since this is such an important topic I assume people have done their own research, such as reading safety studies, that lead them to their own conclusions. Please provide some links to proper double-blind inert placebo controlled safety studies done on these products so we may all review the facts. Preferably, please provide studies on the schedule/protocol of the full combination of such products as administered in practice since we all know there can be interaction and compounding effects of toxicity etc. So many people have opinions about this topic but I am genuinely concerned since the manufacturers of these products do not have liability and as such lack the legal incentive to produce the safest possible product; also I have read there is over $4,000,000,000 dollars in payouts from The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) which adds to my concern (only a very small fraction of injured people get a settlement and there would not be so many settlements if there is no risk). Therefore, I want to see the actual placebo controlled safety studies so that I may make the most informed choices possible (I have been researching this for years now and from what I currently can find, I would not use these products myself; but, I am always open to see more sources and info) -- thank you to anyone whom may provide links to actual peer reviewed (creditable) double-blind inert placebo controlled safety studies on these products.

That's because the CDC doesn't have any studies.

There already is at least one. The Sabin vaccine for smallpox *EDIT: Salk and Sabin vaccines were for POLIO* . A dot of vaccine is placed on a sugar cube to be eaten by the patient.

@@maryanneslater9675 The Salk vaccine is a heat-killed virus in an intramuscular injection: put in the tissue directly, not the bloodstream. The lymph system--all the white blood cells and derivatives--come and go between the lymph circulatory system and the body tissues. The vaccine was effective in causing the white blood cells to react as if to a live virus and generate the protection necessary. It readies the defenses before they are ever needed. The Sabin vaccine is the dot on the sugar cube. This is NOT a dead virus but a live attenuated virus. This virus is one that medical laboratories *weaken* the virus so it can't mount an attack. Going through the digestive system does the job of the macrophages, the white blood cell "big eaters" who engulf and break up the virus. The pieces themselves are placed on the outside of the macrophage, then It travels around to different T and B white cells. One or two of them recognize the piece , start dividing, and make antibodies. These vaccines activate the antibody defenses through the seven days the body needs to prepare for a virus to attack. It saves time so that when a real, full-strength virus hits, the body is ready to attack and shorten the time of the illness. The Sabin vaccine has been found to be more effective than the Salk vaccine in producing lasting immune memory cells.

Make a point for all the other shitty parents who presumably don't want their kids to go through the same thing. Examples must be set at some point, or the anti-vaxxers will NEVER get the point... Sorry for the kids, but they parents are the problem. What about all the kids who legitimately can't take the vaccine? Should we just let them suffer as well?

@@twelvedozen5075 what do you mean 3rd party? The CDC and WHO both do studies without giving vaccines. There's a million non profits out there that treat this country and the rest of the world that both collect data and provide health services. All doctors record the results of treatments especially adverse reactions to vaccines and this is how the CDC and WHO recieve a lot of their data along with their own data. I suspect that you are second away from cutting pasting and reading all the the googled results and finding mountains of data supporting the use of vaccines and the exact amount of adverse reactions to each.
