This series is just what I have been looking for. I'm planning an edwardian inspired gothic Gibson girl capsule wardrobe and I have just started assembling my mockup of the combinations which will be the base layer for everything else (Truly Victorian TVE02) I have learned the hard way that having kids under foot when you're trying to cut your pattern peices out is a bad plan, because you invariably rush it and end up with a wobbly seam allowance. After that, matching your peices together and hemming etc is a lot more challenging!

I'm so excited to see the rest of the series!! I would honestly love to make the famed pinafore from The Queen's Gambit in a nice neutral plaid that I can wear over collared shirts. It seems like a really versatile fall/winter/spring piece.

Mood fabrics has a wonderful free pattern on their website. Haven’t tried it yet. But you must have a little sewing experience because the pattern does not include thorough instruction

For design you can also trace your bodyshape from a picture of yourself or a similar body type from any photo. Has worked great for me so far.

This made me tear up, make clothes for the body you have. Great explanation of how to plan and design a wardrobe.

I have this skirt cut out but dithering over what to use for flatlining and so it gathers dust - you are inspiring me to dig out some nice cotton from the rather large stash I have achieved instead of sewing my history bounding wardrobe x
