Clay is excellent for ponds, that's for sure. But it's horrible when you go to put in septic. Having clay in your soil is a surefire way to lose a perc test. It plugs up all the holes in your soil or more accurately it binds the grains together.

@@sbellock5 You would think that some environmentalists would be on the hunt for anything that would be disruptive to nature. I'm sure someone building a pond on private property isn't worth their time, but at some point in the past, it must be just the luck of the draw that Chris has never crossed paths with them. It might be worth a funny story if Chris had crossed their path, and in the end, he made them look stupid for bothering him.

It’s well known that Greenies aren’t too bright, feelings not facts is what motivates those nutters. Here in Australia, the cops would show them the way off private property.
@samuelchappell7280
3 жыл бұрын
@@kenc3288 It's interesting that you called environmentalists "greenies." Many Christians still portray pagans/Druids as devil worshippers. It would piss most Christians off to know that pagans were, for the most part, just farmers, hunters, and/or fishermen whose Gods were represented by idols of a man and woman. On the same note, this would make pagans and Druids the first environmentalist since the dawn of time. Now the word "environmentalism" and/or being a part of any cause supporting environmentalism is the new four letter word. Just as a few bad apples supporting "feminism" is driving women away from this movement. It seems that the same can be said with regards to environmentalism. Can't we all get along?

it seems every pond you build the land is so flat, lots of costly digging every time, here in north western Ont. Canada big rolling hills and valleys, when built my pond all i had to do is have it logged and brought in a D8 to strip out the huge stumps and b and muck out the composted black mud off the bottom down to the rock hard red clay, push raw red clay down off the top to level off the ground above to make the dam, over 380 long and 7 feet high, pond was done, cost me just over 3k to have the valley dammed off and 20 acres stripped and cut dowm between 3 to 8 feet, and shelf out a hill side for a shop.. all the stumps from stripping all the land filled in a lot of the deep valleys enough to make a much less steep hill for live stock and barre the stumps and brush in to back side of the 40 foot wide dam to give me 5 acres more of some what flat field for live stock grazing, the D8 was done in 3 days, but it sat here for 2 weeks and was told go a head and use it, so i did, to build a road down my west side property line for a fence and road..All them trees you burn would all go to the paper mill here, down to a 3" top. i bough my land cash at 18, and after i logged it, shipped out all the saw logs and pulp, i made enough to pay for the cost of the land, my well, my 800 foot hydro line, 2 small barns, a 2 room root cellar, and a used mobile home, the D8 and the gravel to cap off the 800 foot long 30 foot wide drive way, and a skid steer i rented for 2 months. and a month with a 45 mini ex and still had cash left over.. that ground your digging up sure dont look like clay, you dig here and it sticks in the bucket, and comes up in big hard lumps, with layers of red clay, gray clay, blue clay the deeper you go.. when your down in ahole you cancound each clay layer, and water runs out between each layer

When I was a kid and Haloboration was just starting out i could always earn some money burning mesquite brush during summer vacation. One time Mr. Burnett was called off the Dozer for an emergency and asked me if I could run the dozer for an hour. When he got back right at dark he found me sitting in the chair he used when he drank beer and watched me work. I had ten piles of roots on fire and fifteen acres of pasture plowed to dust. I also had a job for the rest of the summer. Next summer I was Forman for that crew.

Where I live it's all pumice and every pond must have a rubber membrane bottom, especially in dairy farm's because of the effluent sepping, the new development of dairy farms were stopped 12 year's ago because of the contamination into the fresh water table, and our lake which is the biggest in the southern hemisphere, strangely enough it's actually the crater of the biggest volcanic crater on the planet, watching your video's Chris is definitely a pleasure indeed so, even if I fall asleep sometimes, ha ha ha, 😊😊👍👍.
