I'm in this boat as well. I have all the prerequisites to do CAA except Biochemistry. I have been out of college for 10+ years. I'm not sure how it would be possible to get this prerequisite without having to start at the very beginning...

Thank you so much for having someone of color on the show. It is inspirational to see us occupy this space and have the opportunity to tell us about their role. Thank you.

Thanks for posting this. I have to say this. I don’t mean to be rude but I am hard of hearing and I suffer with tinnitus. I see that your friend has hearing aids and working on this field. It makes me happy to see other people with (hearing disabilities) have a career I aspire to be in because I wasn’t sure if they would hire someone like myself with hearing trouble. Thank you you guys rock!

This was super insightful, thank you! Graduated not knowing what path to take then got a job as a clinical research assistant and realized I loved the camaraderie of working alongside healthcare professionals. Currently looking into finding anesthesia tech jobs while taking prereq's, so I found this video to be very applicable and motivating:) Would love to see more of these kinds of vids for your guys' 2nd year as well as for when you guys start working!

I enjoyed this conversation. Nate’s story of being an untraditional student is very inspiring. Thanks for this! (This is my fifth time watching!) 😂

I enjoy your channel, because the information is extremely organic. This is what potential CAA students need to see especially a person like me a person of color. People of color are not aggressively being represented in the field of medicine in 2024. Is this by accident who knows right? But seeing someone who look like me taking the time to be successful at CAA is refreshing and rejuvenating. Thank you for such a great channel and great interview

Great video. I appreciate your time and dedication to getting us this valuable information. However, it would be helpful if you please stop interrupting your guest. There were so many times he was going to say something I wanted to hear and you interrupted him and the convo went somewhere else. For example, you asked him what is AAAA but didn’t let him answer. You answered instead. I would love to hear about your journey as well. I enjoy watching your videos and learning from you. Again, thank you for taking the time to do these.

Hello, i’m really thinking of going back to school to become a CAA. I currently only have an associates degree that I received back in 2012 and attended UNC Charlotte back in 2012 also to get a bachelor’s degree in biology but I didn’t finish and withdrew. I made a couple of C’s and D’s, primarily because I did not put my social life on hold which left me a gpa of 2.01. I am thinking of reapplying back to UNC Charlotte next year in the Fall and really applying myself and I was just wondering if I could bring up my gpa to where they would even consider me.

The minimum GPA requirement is around 2.8. You may be able to take a MBS program to qualify however, I am uncertain. Its something you should look into though

I'm in the same boat, and I've been told to just go back to school and work your ass off and it will pay off in the long run.
