been baling all kinds of straw for more than a decade with fixed chamber baler. some quick tips. chopping or not? we dont chop at all as it can cause all kinds of issues with blocking, rotation and just overall hard on bearings etc. you can do higher speeds and/or bigger swaths as it will lessen the time the straw is in the baler and reduce heat buildup + helps rotation with even and big cropflow. and since its dry straw you wont do any compacting as you do with silage so no point in running it hard on hard density as you will just wear out your baler faster make sure you get the correct amount of net and the right "stretch" on it to keep bale from expanding. look into if you can get a more aggressive profile on your rollers if youre planning to do osme straw as it will help alot with rotation. have so on ours, other brand mind you.

I have never tried a fusion so hard to compare, but can't complain with the kuhn probably done 2000 bales with her now and not had any real issues very good solid bales and love the plastic on plastic for silage, definitely recommend going with plastic binding, better quality silage bales with it and also so much easier to get the bales opened compared to net. Also nice that it takes all the same rolls of plastic no need for the full width special plastic rolls on the front

Also I'd say being wetter in Ireland the kuhn would suit with twice as many wheels so better in wet conditions we have 500 tyres on ours

What baler had you before the ibio

Our first baler was a standard kuhn fixer chamber, then we changed to the ibio which meant we only needed one tractor for wrapping and baling and now the fbp to speed the job up even more 👌
