Van Life is about waking up wherever you want, doing whatever you want and moving on whenever you want. I've been building up to living the Van Life for the last few years and today is finally the day that this new adventure begins! I'll be sharing my adventures and mis-adventures living and working on the road and following the most interesting path and taking it until a new and more interesting one comes along.

Last month I purchased a used 1989 GMC Vanguard Vandura G3500 Cutaway camper van (I'm calling it the "Adventure Van" until I find a better name). It is much bigger than I was originally imagining my van would be, but when I stepped inside, it was game over. I handed the owner the money that day and within a week had it on the road and starting work on re-building and renovating.
On July 15th 2018 I officially started my first day living the Van Life. As of now I've been on the road exploring the Alberta Rocky Mountains for two weeks making my base Canmore. I've had an amazing first couple weeks with many beautiful mornings waking up an showering in the glacial lake 10 feet away from my camp and looking up at the jaw dropping view of Ha Ling (a dramatic mountain I climbed a few years back).
The last couple weeks haven't been without some challenges though. I huge rain and thunderstorm abruptly woke me up with water pouring into the camper. My fridge stopped working, and my house battery will barely hold a charge. So I've got some work ahead of me to keep this van up to speed.
Even with the challenges, everyday has been exciting and eye opening with meeting new friends, discovering new places and going on as many adventures as possible.
A special thanks to Ryan Lester and Alexander MacMullin for some additional footage in this episode!
