I loved this video. It shows that some people are just saying negative things to just say negative things. What I mean is I have been looking at things from Columbia but most people say it's no good but then you ask them how long they had the gun and they say "well I never had one".... Well how you gonna review something that you haven't even tried? Thanks

Thanks for nice comment Jonboat. I had to redo all my air supply and that has delayed my follow up video. The system is working great now! I don't use it frequently, but its been great so far. I appreciate their customer service too.

ive been powder coating with a eastwood gun since January and need to get a new gun and i think im getting this gun. also if you are a pretty good fabricator you can take your double oven and cut the middle out of it and have a bigger oven than just 2 ovens.

Thanks Evan. Yes, I've considered modifying the oven. It will be a little work, but seems to be the most logical (and cheapest) next step. Are you doing just your own parts or have you started a business as well?

@@KMLTimesTwo I've mainly been doing my own parts. I have a 86 trx250r and a yamaha banshee I'm doing restorations on and I've been doing some small parts for some friends that all have other people that want some stuff done so I might be going into business soon and need a batter gun

@@KMLTimesTwo the plastics have been painted a different blue but that paint is cracking and the color that I found that is closest is bubba blue from prismatic powders. But I couldn't find a blue I liked that is close to the paint so I am going with wet charcoal and gloss black. Bolth from prismatic

The hypersmooth 2.0 unit is a pretty good one to have. I was using an eastwood setup and a good friend picked up a second hand Hypersmooth 2.0 and it really improved the coverage and decreased the time it takes to get coverage. I got the 2.0 basic and then just grabbed the upgrade kit and the benefit is that you have the small powder cup as well as the ugprade for the larger hoppers for the same price overall. I'm still rebuilding and setting up my powder booth but I'm looking forward to getting back to coating. I think it's going to be worth the money no doubt after using my friends.

Thanks Robert. I have done about 5 small parts now. I am getting leaking out of the cup. Not the best design. I forgot who, but I reached out to someone else on KZitem that has one and he glued the cup. I just did that the other night and will give it a try to see if it helps. I think the upgrade kit is the way to go, but I will leave that for the future. The biggest issue I think I have now is not having a spray booth. I started with a box,.but that and with it leaking it made a mess! I am looking for dirt cheap cabinets or something like it to make a booth. Do you plan to do this for fun or side money?

Kool Koat makes good systems. I have the Kool Koat 3.0 for about 2 years now with absolutely no issues whatsoever. And i have friends that have the same system you have and they are very happy with it. You should check out Unknown Coatings on KZitem, he has this same ystem and has had it for i think 12-15 years and he loves it. Thx

Thanks Danny. I have some replacement parts that were sent to me and I will try them out to see if it fixes my issues. I should be able to get out there this weekend to try. I looked at Kool Koat, but it was outside my budget at the time. Thanks for the suggestion for unknown coatings. I watch him and he's great.

Man I have always wanted to learn powder coating my self. I use to build cooler racks and leaning post , fishing rod holders and stuff out of aluminum. I have payed a pretty penny to have all my stuff powder coated. I really need to look into doing it my self. But like everything else it takes time and money. Working full time and playing on the weekends building stuff and doing projects around the house it is hard to find time. I really appreciate the videos as always thank you for the time you put into doing this. Take care and stay safe.

Michael - You should give it a try. The small parts I've done so far was pretty easy. Keep it cheap until you know you like it. Yes, TIME and money. Both are always in short supply right???

Or you could find a good quality coater that won't charge you an arm and a leg. Which is why I'm starting a coating business cause it's time for these shops to stop ripping people just cause they can.

@@KMLTimesTwo Looking forward to an update. Been looking at different powder guns for years now and have always felt there has to be something better than the Eastwood dual voltage and over $1k pro level guns... this sounds like the sweet spot. Why did you end up with the basic vs "deluxe" level 02 LED?
