Yea we seen raises and lost jobs while doing it a lot of jobs. So we have at Jeep 176 days of product from 2024 people working sww for months and stellantis hasn't said they are moving anything to Canada and they said they were behind on Belvidere which isn't helping any of our works because they were made to go to other plants or leave. So now you want us to go on strike for what might happen in the future? You want us to help the company with the 176 days of cars on the lots so they can sell them and tell customers they want get 2025 because we aren't working? So $500.00 week for how many months???? Now I don't think so maybe when they say they are taking products to Canada or the won't do as they said in Belvidere then brings us this strike. Why didn't you do this when stellantis was screwing the part timers or when they put us on critical working 70 hour weeks when we had cars stacked in the parking lot or when they made our part time roll overs to full time to have to drive an hour away to a company we didn't own just to make sure they lost thier jobs. Where were you then and why didn't we strike then? Safety was an issue and you and the iuaw did nothing for any of that and now when you come up with what they might do in the future now you want to strike to what help the company is all this is doing. Why couldn't you come talk to us meet with the membership who pays you?

I don't know what he is thinking. Anyone with HALF a braincell knows that this guy has now probably lost a good chunk of loyalty from the workers. Not to mention the fact that if Trump does get elected, he will now remember when this guy said all this, and will be more aprehensive to help UAW. Regardless of which side you're on in politics, I'm sure we can all agree that this was a horrible idea.

@@lonnieknight9187 Your a hard working person who cares and understand there is a reason why several US facilities are simply not cost effective. This is why we see job losses and the UAW does nothing but rattle the members. Vehicles are a commodity. Not your daddy's UAW any more. The market place sets the price and expectations for quality and reliabilllity. I don't hear this from Shawn.

Productivity and profit has increased tremendously over the last 20 years in this country across almost all industries. Including at stellantis. Workers wages haven’t even kept up with inflation. Honestly Chrysler/stellantis wouldn’t even have survived if it wasn’t for government bailouts in 08. Yet the CEO bonuses never stop getting bigger and bigger. Why should a CEO get paid 20 million a year to drive a company into the ground. What has that CEO done to drive efficiencies?

@@RobertMarkowicz-f9l Your dedication is awesome. The industry has changed and the market place has changed. Unfortunaley the UAW mindset has not changed. Shawn needs to become a partner in the process with the manufactures. It's all about meeting the consumers quality and price points. The Asian manufacturers in the USA are doing it. This is no longer your daddy's UAW. Times have changed. Good luck to you and keep up your positive work ethic.

The only thing the UAW has accomplished is force labor rates to increase and companies to look hard to return value to shareholders in the form of more automation especially in the face of having to retool factories and invest to compete in the new global EV revolution. Like it or not, ev's are here to stay and are the future. They require less parts and factories are becoming more automated with AI, your workers salary increases effect the viability of legacy auto... Ultimately yes you got more money but what does it matter if no one has a job anymore? Then a 100 percent increase in salary means nothing when the job doesn't exist. This is the path the UAW is choosing to pursue instead of realizing the trend that is occuring. How can the UAW and legacy auto expect to compete with the Chinese xpeng M03 sedan that has 300 miles of range and costs $16,800? Cheaper than any company can manufacture a car in the US with current outdated technology and manufacturing processes ... And then depending on your defined pension benefits of legacy auto goes bankrupt all retired members having pensions may get reduced depending on the plans and contracts. Stellantis doesn't care if you strike, your doing them a favor, they have more than enough inventory, but can your employees afford to receive such a cut for 6 months to a year? You may have won a battery contract but what happens when Teslas giga factories and joint ventures start producing the 4380 batteries for half the cost legacy just start buying those instead and close their battery factory all together and everyone employed? Then instead of doubling their pay you just put everyone out of a job because you increas d costs too much and left money on the table to automate to atleast save some workers, great job and forthought UAW👍

You dont think they consider all this on multiple levels ( local, regional, and international ) before making decisions for the future? I would bet they dicuss and weigh out the pros and cons way beyond what you could from your couch.
