Thanks Benny. I also have the Static King. I do not like using the provided foot and just hold the clip in the glue. In N scale I find the provided foot thing way too big.

I am waiting on picking mine up today, it just came in the mail... So NO power supplies on these in the box? Woodland is making a nice profit off these as it, they COULD have not cheaped out, WOW! So I best go get a battery then eh? Anyone know IF a generic 12v power supply will work on them?

Thanks Benny for the info. I have been toying with buying one myself. I have a homemade one but it doesn't seem to work all that great. Might just have to see if the hobby store has any left. Randy

Thanks for this very nice product review, Ben. It will be very helpful to anyone who is trying to decide which of the many static grass applicators to buy. Static grass is really nice on a layout! ...Roy

Hi as I mentioned to you before that I highly recommend this. To help you a little more after about 30 minutes use your vacuum to clean up the loose grass. When you do the vacuum helps the grass to stand up even more. Glad you like it. Would of stunk if you didn't after recommending it.

Lol! Thanks for the advice and help. Ive used the vacuum for my grass tuffs in the past and its working well with this. Glad I put the stocking over it. Seems like quadruple comes off than stays on!

Great peek at the static King Ben, I would imagine that is what mine looks like, I have never opened it yet, lol. now you have to get the static king riding mower to cut the static grass, also sold separately, lol. Have you tried making your own Tufts with it? use the Tuft Tac glue from woodland scenic #FS643. it is a repositionable glue very tacky so you can make a sheet of tufts on parchment paper and then peel and stick them around the layout. They also make the mini vacuum unit but I think it is battery only. I like the idea of a tiny handheld unit but im not a huge fan of batteries but it may be nice for hard to reach areas. Cheers Rob

Thats too funny you haven't even opened it! I would like to try the tufts in the near future. So far I've been using the static glue and I'm really happy with it.

I think that woodland scenics makes the static king over complicated. WWS, World War Scenics has several static applicators that I think are better. Simple straight forward and the different sizes of applicator helps a lot with the size area you're working. That's just me though and different people have their own preferences. Stay well. -Wil 👍

William they are good but way over priced at close to 150 Canadian or more. I made my own following Luke Towsands tutorial. Cost me 30 canadian for all parts and it works crazy good.

Good review but way over priced, all of the static applicators are. 100 + dollars for a bit of plastic and a cheap Chinese made negative ion generator worth no more then 10 bucks. I made my own for 30 dollars Canadian and it works fantastic.
@CreativeRails

They are expensive Peter, that's why I always stayed away, plus I find static grass over done. But I must say I'm loving the results, so I'm definitely a hypocrite lol! Did you use an electric fly swater or the strainer method?
@PeterCPRail8748
4 жыл бұрын
@@CreativeRails neither. Built one out of pvs pipe, a dollar store Snap on lid container, metal mesh. Push button toggle, and a 12 dollar negative ion generator from amazon. Works just as good as the store bought ones and better then the fly sweater and strainer method.
