My suggestion is what i doing. Try build underground base. Because of shallow bedrock its need to be dig into a mountain, so not all starting location is adequate, but most of the time you can find place to dig. This give vacuum base from the star witch you can easily expand. Also for smelting and cooling, i use 2 furnaces, one for offgasing and one for smelting. And gases from offgasing ores i use for cooling. And waste heat from cooling is used for offgasing - its closed system. :) I also thinking about playing on little modded Venus - add some steam to the atmosphere and more plants to starting equipment and then play without trading. Similar challenge you can achieved withe restrict to not buying liquid water, only steam. And thanks for the videos, i now know, that brutal start on Venus is somewhat normal! ;)

Yah, at first I just wanted to know if it was possible, I saw people doing Vulcan but no Venus. So that was my target. Yah I think after the hard planet mod, I might look into some overhall mods. The base game survivel aspect is still to shallow today, I can't keep going based on creative mode only. Seems like the plants and food mod make it substantially harder to have food.

Haha, every time you say "others," it's probably me :P It was nice to watch the whole series. I lose a bit of interest pretty fast too when survival ends. I will play the "Hard Planet" mod too, for sure. It looks fun and challenging. About challenges. I have a few suggestions if you ever restart Venus. You mentioned a few times in your previous videos that you wanted to play the game like the developers intended because you were up for a challenge. Then don't use any kind of AC exploit. Those cheeses are big game-changers, especially on hot planets. With a single AC, you are cooling Venus's atmosphere to big negative numbers; this is ridiculously OP. Don't treat it as an attack; it is only a suggestion for future restarts. Everyone sets their own rules in this game. I didn't want to use any kind of AC exploit, and it ended up with not even building a single one or using phase change. But because of obvious traders RNG, I had to conserve starting water as much as I could, so I couldn't adjust the suit's temperature, which, in consequence, was a bit harder with faster waste buildup. Another obvious and interesting rule is to have 100% HP all the time. Or no grow light. Or some trader restrictions, like can't interact with 3x3 or max amount (e.g., $500) spent per trader. Or something like, from day 10, throw away one fresh potato a day; from day 20, throw two potatoes a day; from day 30, throw three... Sky ain't limit. I'm up for interesting challenges, too. I love your videos

HAha yah, I also check what you were doing, stealing some ideas. I though it would not be possible to do any kind of early cooling without that ac stuff, but the water method you did seems to works great! That is definitely added to my list already

@@Sworn973 About the OGRE thing, I never played with it. I like tweaking my base, but after seeing you dealing with them (moving chutes, cables, and OGREs constantly), I said no. Deep miners don't have that great yield. But I like them for their steady income with no maintenance. Silver and cobalt can be mined quickly with sensor glasses for gases.

@@floccwins Yah they are not great, the vertical miner is even more expensive, there is just no balance in that what so ever, so the deep miners win. To be honest I didn't even remember they existed hahahah
