I find it reassuring that there are hotels like this in Japan and that you also show us corners that we don't normally get to see.

Thank you for showing this hotel. Personally I would have declined as soon as I saw how much rusted and decay it was especially seeing the bed take out the blue light lol . But when you got 14 minutes into it I decided I want to go to this place. It's a shame that money isn't been diverted and update to the building appearance. Thank you for giving me something to watch on a Sunday from Japan.. man I wish I was in financial position to travel in this existence. That's what I would do if I had the opportunity.

I hope you are one day blessed with the funds to travel. 🙇♂️
this place is amazing. I suspect the rusty metal and paint peeling are left that way on purpose, it adds to the retro feel. The owner cares, obviously, otherwise it wouldn’t be so clean, and they wouldn’t still be buttering bread every day! ❤
The English subtitles are really well done. Thank you. I hope to experience a place like this. I don't mind its flaws and age as that is what gives it character.
I was going to say 1971. Very retro…if they replace some of the original flooring and fix the railing and add a coat of paint. They could be more busy, but the price would go up..at least it is clean…and has a neat view. Retro vending machine are interesting. I am surprised they don’t have the old udon machine with the Nixie tubes. Udon machines need lots of Maintenace. Definitely like stepping back in time. Would be interested in going if I were in the area driving..maybe next trip.
It's really badly in need of maintenance, but at least the price hasn't changed since it opened (US$10 Single). It's an amazing time capsule of the Showa era 😁 The rooms are really large and the decor takes me back to my childhood. It would be so easy to do minor repairs (no changes though !) and improve it a LOT !! It would be a FANTASTIC location for any Japanese film or TV show !
Long walk, and then you have to think about going back the other. Now how come they can't at least paint the railings so they look better? Good thing some vending machines worked, or you'd have no food. You are so much braver than I am, going to places I never would but I can share your adventures with you. Thank you!

This hotel is a magical building that becomes more and more tasteful with each passing hour. It has already reached its peak season, but it delights us in another way: ☺️

You are so sweet in your description of the place. This is the 2nd time I've seen this hotel and not gonna lie, I find it super creepy. I'm glad you videoed yourself for "evidence". Safe travels! ❤
Although I find the retro decor fascinating and being from that time era I find it nostalgic, The place does need some fixing and reminds me of a cheap hotel in a bad part of the city in the USA. I probably wouldn't stay there, but it looks like you had a good time.

I think she is being too polite HAHA, when she was in the bathroom and said that "it's clean and well kept" I almost choked on my drink, the peeling paint on the bath tub alone!! The rusty stairs.....wow, it's like this place hasn't been touched up since the 70s.....the nostalgic look is cool though, but yeah, not the nicest place!

@@lauriehamilton2436 To be fair, the grout looks like it is well cleaned. If something is going to give away bad cleaning, grout will do it. But yeah, its a bit of a clash of sensibilities. To be polite. =-)

@@wyliem Perhaps, but coming from the Pennsylvania area, this place reminds me of a lot of motels that we'd stay in when on vacation down at the ocean city Maryland or Chincoteague Virginia areas. Over the years a lot of those that haven't yet been replaced (OC in particular is recently renovating or rebuilding a LOT of the old buildings that were originally built in the 60s and 70s), look INCREDIBLY similar to this place, with a bit more western flair, simply because there was a building and tourism boom in the 60s and 70s down on the eastern seaboard. This pretty much has the same feel: An aged facility born in that 70s mentality and timeframe, with a few updates to keep it modern enough to continue to operate, but only barely, and it needs some serious love and maintenance to stay relevant.

Uh, you are far more brave than I. In the States, this is the kind of hotel with bodies in the walls. Literally a kid on a tricycle, riding the hallway and chanting "Redrum, Redrum".

It could be kept better outside but I like the vintage vibe inside.
Wow, that was really just like back in time in silent province. Especially the hotel, which looks like the decoration from some kind of B-movie thriller.
Not the most luxurious place that Itsuka-san has ever stayed at!!🤣 Your subscribers appreciate the sacrifices you make for us! A suggestion: I recently saw a video about Aogashima. It seems like an amazing place but very difficult to get to. The KZitemr I watched showed the difficulty of reaching it and not much about life there. If it is possible, that might be a good one for the Itsuka treatment.💚

I love your positivity but at the same time this is giving a very suspicious energy to me. like it reminds me of a sketchy red roof inn i stayed at in detroit once....
